It is almost time for me to go back to HK, I just don't know if I should go for a visit and go back and work. I know the rent is high in HK but the jobs are vast. What answers do you have ?

Depend on what kind of job you do and your career path.
If you job is kind of investing, financial, or related with China. You should choose HK, which has much more potential compare to Canada.
Canada is suitable place to live after retirement.

You should find out some real info from friends in HK about the prices before you visit. I wouldn't get a job there if you have to work too hard since the prices are very expensive. Stick with Canada for now and make more money to travel to HK. Best luck!

Don't go to Hong Kong just because you can find A job. As far as I know, HK is a better place to visit and have fun, but when it comes to reality (high prices, not enough space, scarce resources, declining economy, unknown future, etc.), it's not so pretty any more. However, if you like some highlight on your resume, it may not be a bad idea to work there for a year or two, especially if you have a job that pays you well enough to relief you from worries of high expenses. It is an exciting place, but it with a price.
Another thing to keep in mind - if you are used to the freedom you get at home, then HK may not be the place to be in the future. It will become similar, if not same, as any part of the Mainland China, given that the same party will stay in power.
