Well, it was neck and neck during the cold war, I however think the U.S. has become the dominate party of the 2.
I still must say the AK-47 is a better, proven and more reliable weapon than the M-16A2 or the M-4 Carbine. Disadvantage is it does not have the range as the American .223, but it can take a lot worst treatment than the American rifle.

Anti tank, we have the new AT-4. Have you seen this thing in action. You can use a special laser site and program the thing to hit the top of the tank, and it's a shoulder fired weapon.

Don't know much about the troop transports. The Bradley was OK, but I think these new Striker vehicles can take a lot more damage. I may be mistaken, but I think the new Strikers have Uranium Depleted Armor. With the surrounding cage and armor, and RPG only leaves a paint scratch.

It depends on what you mean by "better". The U.S. theory is quality, while the Russians opt for quantity. For example, a single soldier with an M4 could outshoot a single soldier with an AK47, however, the Russian military always tries to outgun opposition by moving troops in larger formations that usualy standard militaty practice. The same goes for tanks, single M1A1 Abrams can outgun any other tank on the planet, but will fall if given enough opposition.

The weapons themselves differ greatly. The m16/m4 is technically more accurate at a range beyond 300 meters, but it loses points because it may jam sometimes, however you just "slap and rack" (hit the magazine and pull back the charging handle) and it clears 99% of all malfunctions. The ak47 is an accurate weapon if used on single shot, but the majority of people who use it put it on rock and roll (full auto) and just sort of shoot, so it isn't too accurate then.

As far as tanks go, the M1A1 is all around superior. Better armor, better treads, better weapons, etc. However, enough opposition can bring down any tank.

Russia still has one of the best defending tanks. but when it comes to Weapons, I believe that the government is hiding more than they lead on, so I believe that the US has the best weapons as far as accuracy and such. Just look at show future weapons!?! I mean, the government already has access to those weapons, but I don't know if they are actually using them.

Duh!

Billion-dollar jets, like the F-22 Raptor, Stealth Bombers, F-16, Abrahm M-1 tanks, Apache Helicoptors with 5 mile pinpoint accuracy, A-11 Tank Killers, drone fighting planes, and right on down to each soldier's $15,000 rifle which is far superior to the old AK-47 and far superior to our old M-16's of yesterday.

America is the world's Superpower. If we wanted to destroy everything in our way (thinking like a terrorist), we could have done that by now within seconds. We aren't like that, and care about the innocent.

We have military pilots who get up every morning here in America, fly at 80,000 feet over to Iraq, support the ground troops with air defense and then fly home to their wives and kids in time for dinner every evening.

Putin visited Bush here to ask (request, plead, beg, consider) the US not to put our missle defense shields in Europe. While he was here, he went out on an American million-dollar fishing boat and caught a big fish in the water. He seemed like an average American enjoying his weekend that day.

Last year Hezbollah fighters burned 44 Israeli tanks with old Soviet RPG-7.

Troop transport: IL-76 is the best aircraft, lands/takes off unprepared land, loading crane is embedded: you don't need any additional equipment to load/unload the cargo (US aircraft suck at this point).
An-124 is the biggest cargo aircraft designed for military purposes. You can insert Boeing fuselage in it.
