Despite the fact that she likes him, she should just back away from him. He's clearly not interested. He could also be shy, but somehow I really doubt that. I really don't think he's interested. Here's another thought: maybe he's the kind of guy who doesn't like the woman to take the first initiative.

So if you want to be respected when saying "no", learn also to respect when a guy say "no". He aslo has the right to choose. Grow up.

He obviously just doesn't want to date your friend and there's nothing she, or you, can do to force him. If he doesn't want to, your friend should respect his decision and move on.
