When ours started that we put in a hot wire..Call your local farm or pet store and ask about ones in stock..This is a wire that is placed around the fence line about a foot off the ground..It is not harmful to the pet , it only sends a mild electrical shock to it..Ours got zapped twice then never got near it again..After she was trained we left the wire but unplugged it..I touched the wire myself to make sure it wasn't bad..Be sure if u get one at the farm store u tell them it's for pets..Not livestock as that one is way more powerful..

Address the real issue. Your dog has excess energy to burn, is bored and wants something on the other side of the fence. Letting your dog in the yard isn't going to cut it. Take the dog out for a long walk. If you don't like walking, run, Rollerblade, bike etc. A tired dog isn't interested in digging up the yard. If the dog continues to dig under the fence after long walks, you have to correct the behavior the moment it happens.
Take the dog for some exercise and return to the yard. Observe the dog and when/if she moves to dig near the fence, touch her to get her attention and give her a command of no while you look her in the eye. But remember, do it under control...no yelling AND establish other rules the dog must follow so she begins to understand she does what you want not the other way around.

What we did was placed some chicken wire under the fence and extended it out about 2 feet and covered it up with dirt, it was a lot of work, digging and burring the fence but it made a big difference, they dig but can't get out.

You can burry chicken wire a few inches under the dirt around the border of the fence. It won't hurt the dog if she reaches it, but will deter the digging b/c it isn't a favorable feeling on thier paws.
Some people have also had luck putting their dogs poo in the holes and covering them back up, the smell is supposed to be an aversion.

A couple of ideas for you....you can put a cement border around the fence. You can "hotwire" around it. Many times dogs dig to get out because they are bored. Perhaps your dog needs to get out and walk more often?
