The Catholic Church needs you to go through another ceremony. No other marriage is sanctified otherwise. As far as i know atleast.

In fact if a Catholic went through the motions of a "marriage" before a JP, that person is not married. The Church can allow such a person to marry in the Church, and this is sometimes referred to as having a marriage "blessed". But that is actually a euphemism, since there was no marriage to be blessed.

No, Christ's church are the people who love and follow Him not an institution. God can bless the marriage though, by the obedience of the married couple to Him.

We don't bless a marriage;-} we witness the vows.
Catholic marriages are also registered with the state.
The couple have to meet the criteria for Catholic marriage.
i.e. One of them must be a baptised Catholic,
they must both have been unmarried before.
Otherwise, they must get an annulment.
