At the heart of religions themselves is love and compassion. It is individual interpretation that brings the evilness and prejudice.

From any conceivable angle, yes. Religions seek to explain evil, create images of what evil is, gives people the idea to participate in these acts to oppose the religion, and gives justification to those that follow the religion to persecute and harm those that doctrine warrants such treatment to. Religion opposes indulgence by creating hatred.

No-----living by God's and Jesus words are not the root of evil.
They explain the evil and ask that you avoid them and follow God and Jesus, not evil. If all would do this think what peace and calmness would be with us and in the world.
Satan is here to lead you to evil and that is your choice---follow Satan or follow Jesus, which do you want, that is free will.

the root of a religion (the basis) is of course morality and good- it is the fruit that the tree of religion bears which is evil- the people who believe in obscurring their children from truths- the people who would shoot a doctor that carries out abortions, the people who think it is better that people suffer with painful and humiliating diseases rather than dying in peace, with dignity FOR NO REASON OTHER THAN they believe their religion to be against these things- elt us discover right and wrong free from such dangerous conflictions.
