Right up to 100%?

I was always brought up a Christian, but even as a child i began to have my doubts.

Now, nearly middle aged and very cynical, I think of the Bible as nothing more than a story and religion just a code to live by for people who need a crutch.

I'm not an evil person who flouts decency, I just don't believe in a supreme being.

alphacenturi: I agree with you 100%

Absolutely.

100 per cent.

If not I wouldn't dream of taking his name in vain- which for my sins I do on a regular basis.

Take time to wonder at the enormity of being human, the grandeur of the Grand Canyon or the birth of each glorious new day and it is no longer possible to question the existence of a supreme being.

Our faults may be ours to own but planet earth belongs to him.

When a man strikes his male or female slave with a rod so hard that the slave dies under his hand, he shall be punished. If, however, the slave survives for a day or two, he is not to be punished, since the slave is his own property. (Exodus 21:20-21 NAB)

Make ready to slaughter his sons for the guilt of their fathers; Lest they rise and posses the earth, and fill the breadth of the world with tyrants. (Isaiah 14:21 NAB)

If within the city a man comes upon a maiden who is betrothed, and has relations with her, you shall bring them both out of the gate of the city and there stone them to death: the girl because she did not cry out for help though she was in the city, and the man because he violated his neighbors wife.
(Deuteronomy 22:23-24 NAB)

"If a man lies with a male as with a women, both of them shall be put to death for their abominable deed; they have forfeited their lives." (Leviticus 20:13 NAB)

All who curse their father or mother must be put to death. They are guilty of a capital offense. (Leviticus 20:9 NLT)

If a man commits adultery with another man's wife, both the man and the woman must be put to death. (Leviticus 20:10 NLT)

A priest's daughter who loses her honor by committing fornication and thereby dishonors her father also, shall be burned to death. (Leviticus 21:9 NAB)

From there Elisha went up to Bethel. While he was on his way, some small boys came out of the city and jeered at him. "Go up baldhead," they shouted, "go up baldhead!" The prophet turned and saw them, and he cursed them in the name of the Lord. Then two shebears came out of the woods and tore forty two of the children to pieces. (2 Kings 2:23-24 NAB)

That night the angel of the Lord went forth and struck down one hundred and eighty five thousand men in the Assyrian camp. Early the next morning, there they were, all the corpuses of the dead. (2 Kings 19:35 NAB)

I believe completely in God. I have faith that He has prepared a home in heaven for me and for all believers He has chosen.
The Bible is His Word, revealing Himself, His Son and the plan of salvation to us.

I fear your flogging a dead horse with this one, because the people who claim they believe 100% are to a large extent brain washed.

Despite millions of years worth of evidence such as fossils, frozen preserved early animals, a whole load of facts that prove a huge part of the Bible (or whatever they call THE holy book) is complete and utter rubbish, they will just not accept it.

The problem is if they start to question the bible, koran, etc, and they admit it can't be true then that means they have to accept other parts of it might be wrong, and they're just not willing to do that.

Let's start with the entire human race coming from one man and one woman, (oh, and a talking snake carrying a bad apple) and it all falls apart, but will they have it?

No, and then comes the excuses about 'not reading it literally' but hey, they take an awful lot of it literally don't they?

As i said, your not going to get anywhere because they're not willing to see what's right before their eyes, a book of FICTION!
