many seem to be.

I wonder how many people would modernly eat meat if they had to kill the animals themselves.
I think it would actually be better though, if people did the killings themselves, because then the nazi concentration like slaghterhouses would not be used.

People torture and kill animals too much for satisfying their tongues.
If someone is starving or following their natural way of ancestreal life (which was conformed to due to lack of vegetation etc.), it is understandable to kill and eat an animal for your preservation.

However, I do not believe that we are made to eat meat.

The other omnivore that I know of is a pig. they have long snouts, like the carnivore's long mouth, thereby enabling it to bite into meats easily. humans have round little heads, and couldn't bite anything with much damaging effect. our canines are small, and completely inneficient for meat eating, to mention them causes me to laugh.. we have sweating skin, like herbivores, unlike pigs (omnivore) and carnivores. We have long digestive tracts, etc etc.

My main point is, ok some of us eat meat, but do we have to? It's not necessary. So why do it?

No, man is vegetarian by nature. Look at the teeth. Some argue that we have canine teeth, but they are NOT for eating meat. We do not have (nor have we ever had) teeth meant for eating meat. Look how long and sharp a dog or jungle cat's teeth are. Ours are all flat.
Also, look at predators claws and bodies. They are meant to chase down animals, lunge at them and kill them with their bare teeth and claws. Imagine what would happen if a person tried to run down a gazelle, jump on it, tear it apart (without any tools) and eat it raw, like carnivorous animals do. It wouldn't happen.
Also, our closest animal relative is the primate---a vegetarian, except for the few bugs it eats.
PLUS, if a person lived solely on plants, they would be fine as long as there is variety. You can get everything you need from plants. If you attempt to eat only meat and nothing else, you will die within a year from protein poisoning.

As for changing, I say each to their own. People have evolved to be able to eat meat, although early man was not designed to. Besides, you're not going to change anyone's lifestyle by getting mad, screaming at them and putting them down. You're only going to reinforce the fact that they think they are right.

Namaste!
The animals live by instinct, and eat whithout thinking! But are we animals? Or if we are can we rise? Maybe in the nature of human being exist somethink specific, and this is the capacity to rise to make changes quiqly,in a few years. The animaql make changes like "what they eat" in generations...etc...We are omivourus but the real question for now is not what we eat but what we can eat, how can we be more strong, more evoluate!
I don't know if i'm write, but i hope too!
Take a good day, from your interrior resurces !

Man is not carnivorous by nature . Many times it has been analysed by experts and they say that human digestive system is best suited for vegetarianism only. So it is not by nature. It is by necessisity, either for want of immediate power and energy as envisaged by the non-vegetarians or for lack of plant & vegetation to prolong, man would hav e changed to non-vegetarianism.

Dear anil,

When God created man (Adam) in 11,013 BC, he was not carnivorous. The Bible tells us in Genesis 1:29-31, "And God said, Behold, I have given you every herb bearing seed, which is upon the face of all the earth, and every tree, in the which is the fruit of a tree yielding seed; to you it shall be for meat.
30 And to every beast of the earth, and to every fowl of the air, and to every thing that creepeth upon the earth, wherein there is life, I have given every green herb for meat: and it was so.
31 And God saw every thing that he had made, and, behold, it was very good. And the evening and the morning were the sixth day."

After Adam and Eve sinned, the entire creation of God was cursed. Now there would be poisonois plants and carnivorous animals. There would be viruses and pathogenic bacteria. Death also came for man, who was originally created to live forever.

We are omnivorous.

We are not adapted to be pure carnivores, but neither are we adapted to get all of our nutrition from vegetable matter.

Our digestive system and bodily health works most efficiently on a diet of plenty of fruits, vegetables, nuts, and grains supplemented with meat.

Unfortunately, most of us consist on a diet that mostly consists of sugar, fat, highly processed flour, and some more sugar, and a lot of it's probably fried.

no man is an omnivore by nature and no he shouldnt' change.

our bodies are able to absorb the nutrients from any number of food sources making us superior from a survival prespective to carnivores and herbivores.

ideally if either food source became scarce, we could survive off the other as our bodies could digest either.

-we should change, we should grow, we should evolve--if you want to do it cave man style-go out and kill the poor animal yourself and then crunch it down like an animal - if that's what you think humans are supposed do-- Why sit at an elegant restaurant and eat animals on fine china? Get down and dirty like it really is--If you want to evolve from animal life you can start by becoming a vegetarian! Heaven is called the land of milk and honey -not slaughter houses and killing innocent animals!
