yea it does have alot of sugar and also not alot of fiber to fill u up so people tend to eat more then the serving size(which is only 3/4 cup) the chocolatey delight is good but it has all that sugar and also isnt filling for me. personally, i think one of the healthiest cereals is cheerios cuz it has 1 gram of sugar per serving(its serving is a full cup) and fills me up longer and still has less calories then special k.(snd is good with fruit in it)

From what I have seen most of the Kellogg's cereals contain corn syrup and/or high fructose corn syrup in it. Their Heart Smart cereal (at least one of them) has NINE listings of sugar in it, including corn syrup and/or high fructose corn syrup. Heh. If their claim of whole oats and high potassium is true for a healthy heart, I would be better off with oatmeal and a banana with real maple syrup. (The maple flavored is fake maple flavoring.)
There was a story earlier this summer about parents suing Kellogg's because of the poor nutrition of the cereal marketed to children. The cereal marketed to adults isn't much better.
I didn't buy any Total last week because it also contains HFCS. Cheerios, however does not. Nor does Kashi. I had the latter two this morning for breakfast with vanilla soy milk and probably got around 20g of protein.

1) it's low in fat
2) it's fortified (ie enriched in vitamins and minerals)
3) the american version has way too much sugar (as opposed to the EU one)
in short: get Total with strawberries instead
btw: the portion is still too big!
Use:
* 30 gr (1 oz) of cereal and 125 (1/2 cup) skim milk: 160 cal
* 1/2 cup of unsweetened OJ (with added calcium and vit D): 50-60 cal
* 1/2 cup unsweetened skim yogurt: 50-60 cal
* 3-4 halves walnuts: 60-70 cal
-- and voilà you have a VERY healthy breakfast

Most cold cereals are highly processed, including Special K. Just look at the ingredients - it had tons of stuff in it that's processed. It's better to go with a whole grain source for cereals, such as whole oatmeal (not the instant kind).
Just because it has vitamins and minerals doesn't change the fact that it has lots of processed carbs, preservatives, etc.

I think that Total cereal is a healthier choice from a vitamin and mineral standpoint. With low fat or nonfat milk, and a piece of healthy fruit...you've got a good tasting and a "good for you" breakfast. Eat it for breakfast and lunch, with a healthy supper and smart snacks between meals if needed and you will be healthier and thinner if that is your goal.
Eat Smart, eat good!

thats the cereal YOUR eating...like the choclately dream thing they have is full of sugar, and so is their yogurt and fruit one, and the strawberry one. but if u get the protein one, its only 3 grams of sugar, and 14 grams of carbs, but 9 grams of net carbs. i read what net carbs were....but i didnt understand it. the protein one has 10 grams of protein like 1.5 grams of fat....people say it doesnt taste good cuz its 'protein' but i always thought it did.....i mean do people like protein shakes?? i didnt think they did...but i dont know ive never tasted one. but yeah, thats only the cereal your eating.
