In terms of reputation probably the British SAS, the German KSK, the Russian Spetsnaz, American Delta Force, French Commandos In terms of being the "best" well you cannot really accurately compare since special forces are supposed to be top secret. Who knows? China probably have the world's "best" special forces which is top secret that the whole world doesn't know about, of which their training is probably bordering human rights violation.

Israeli special forces are in the top 3... The only thing keeping them from #1 consideration is that their training is so specialized- they don't train for operations all over the world like the Seals and SAS do. They only operate in their immediate geographical proximity, not way up at the polar icecaps or the jungles of Indonesia & the Congo. FBI gets bumped off the top 5.

You could keep the top 3, but add the Isreali Moussad, the British Mountain Forces and Delta Force could fight it out for the last two spots. ROK (South Korean) Marines are tough, Spetznats from Russia before the collapse, and Australian "Golden Road" teams. Some of these guys are so secret I'VE never heard of them.

I agree with 4 of your 5, the Israeli army has
un named groups that are the equal of the Green Berets, SEALS, or SAS. The difference being that they are Top Secret and mission specific. This includes assassination, hostage rescue, and counter-ops.

ROK (Republic of Korea)Marines are overrated. I worked with them when I was in USMC. They were tough, but they don't have any tactics, at all. Same with Royal Marines, some crazy SOB's, but they didn't know what they were doing. Navy SEALs are lazy. And frankly, the everyday grunt Marine was probably tougher than any of the army's special forces, sorry guys!!
