I'd like to try some "back door" stuff, but he said he doesn't like the idea of it and says it's unsanitary. I thought that guys would jump at the chance? Is he abnormal?

Jody,

I don't think he's abnormal for not wanting to engage in sodomy. I'm not sure about the sanitary aspect of it (I've engaged in it with girlfriends and I didn't have any issues relating to that). If, on the other hand, he was not interested in experimenting in other sexual activities and only wants to do straight, conventional, traditional sex (missionary, highly formulaic stuff) then I'd say he's just reserved and conservative. I don't know if he's into porn or anything, but it's almost a certainty that anyone who enjoys porn would "jump at the chance" as you say.

Also, he may just harbour such a respect for you that he would not want to treat you in any degrading manner.

On a side note, I'm very pleased to hear you want to experiment that way, I know many girls that swear by it.

Hope things work out for you.

Jimi

He thinks it's unsanitary? That guy must not understand that a little cleanup will help solve that problem. He isn't normal because he can't realize that... calling it unsanitary.

For men who can use common sense and not be blinded by certain thoughts, it is normal if the guy doesn't want to experiment, whether it's common if they choose not to is a different story. But they are not abnormal for choosing not to experiment.

Yeah of course every girl thinks that guys would jump up to any kind of sexual idea. But maybe your b,f is just grossed out by it, i know a lot of guys that could care less about the "back door" idea. Dont worry about it, besides it is unsanitary.

I would think that most guys would jump at the chance, but I guess it comes down to personal preference. It's not necessarily 'unsanitary' if both of you are clean.

Keep trying, maybe he's just scared of hurting you or doing something wrong.

Good Luck

There is the possibility that he believes back door stuff is only for gays and he could be afraid that liking back door is going to mean he is gay or at least bi. Ask him. He may actually believe it is unsanitary (is he a clean freak, always washing his hands and stuff?) There may be ways for you to back door and not have him feel unsanitary. Or you may have to wait for the next b/f who probably wont have that hang up.

He may want to experiment sexually. but he may not be turn on by anal sex. Does that make him abnormal? Absolutely not. Anal sex really isn't very natural and a lot of people, men and women are turned off by the idea.

Try something else and see where that leads.

No, he's not abnormal, my bf said the same thing..I asked him if he would like to have anal sex and he said, " um..no, I think that's gross besides, I don't want to hurt you, I can do some things that feel really good there but a penis is just too big to put inside there" and indeed he can do some things that feel really really goooodddd there. lol. Good Luck. Atleast he cares about you.

Hi girl : look , he is a norman guy and you should honor his decisions , one thing I see here is that he really values you as his girl , you don't find that kind of person around the corner , I, have to ask you though why do you want to try the back door , ? I don't mean any disrespect but isn't that another way to kill family values . and a disgrace to a woman , good luck .
think about it.

No, I think that is pretty normal. He is happy with what he is getting from you. ( I don't mean that to sound bad). Any ways, I think most guys would jump at it, but maybe he is into something else like...I don't know toys or something. Sorry if that's too graphic. Any ways, I think you should talk to him and ask him what he likes. He also need to take into consideration that you have sexual needs too, that need to be full filled.

People's sexual desires are usually hard-wired by young adulthood. If he thinks it's dirty, gross, or disgusting, you're unlikely to change his mind, although in a long-time relationship, you may find him open to new adventures after several years of the same old thing.

Remind him that a condom will keep him clean and safe, and that the area's empty nearly all the time.
