Writer: you know I feel like I am divenly inspired to write a book about god today
Bartender: ok so why are you here
Writer: cause even though I am inspired, i have free will, so instead of writing I am going to use my time drinking
Bartender: enjoy your drink!

If "The Boss" asked his secretary to "Take a Letter" would the secretary lose her free will by complying?
No, because it is her job to do so.
With God, He asked people who already loved Him to write up the story of (whatever) for the benefit of generations to come. Those who were eyewitnesses were asked to write what they witnessed. Others were asked to write the history of their people. Others were documenting the days of the prophets and the Kings.
All for the benefit of those yet unborn, so that we may have at our fingertips, the lessons that others received "live and in person" centuries ago.

God didn't "take control" of anyone. The authors of the books could have chosen to not write them. They didn't, since their desire was to follow God's leading.
Your understanding of free will is lacking.

They might have been divinely inspired but no one grabbed their hand and made them write anything. I might be inspired to go out and b*tch slap someone, but I have the free will to choose whether or not I will do it.

What God would have for us is maximum remarkable. the tip interest? What end interest? There are basically effects whichever way. in basic terms God can do God's will the mostest. i individually, shall aim to do as God would have me do... God speaks to us all in many strategies, mutually with voices, targets, visions etc. unfastened will operates out of decision, unfastened will is thereabouts the devil's will, to me individually. it somewhat is an apple genesis tale back. do no longer settle for apples from the devil. do no longer settle for apples from the devils. Ask God approximately apple of existence, & apple of wisdom. do no longer take from the centre tree. God so is familiar with. Ask God first. lots of my braincells look to think of they have a will, while in certainty, all they have is volition. God is familiar with. Will is largely undesirable, i individually does no longer pass alongside that course. Grace is maximum more advantageous. Grace comes at Grace speed. thank you be to God.

They were inspired, not forced. Consider, something a woman wears might inspire me to ask her on a date, however certainly it isn't like she is forcing me to. I may decide to not ask her out, as I have free will

They have free will to obey or disobey God just like you and I. They chose to obey Him in writing under His direction. That's not hard to understand.

You people beat this to death........... get over yourselves you are starting to look pathetic......
The free will part--- is choosing Salvation or NOT--- If you choose Salvation- out of love for your Savior you'd want to do as much as you could to share the Gospel of His Love & salvation..
The writers were doing just that........................................
