OK, ladies, if I am going to be considerate enough to lift it up to avoid drops on the seat, can you at least forgive me leaving it up?

You don't get mad to open a door to enter. So why get mad to but it down to go?

Her getting up in the night and falling into the toilet is her problem and her responsibility to prevent.

What if a male were to get up in the night and urinate onto the closed lid because she left it down? How is that any different?

This is an absurd double standard - it is no more a male's responsibility to keep track of the toilet seat's position than it is a female's. I attribute all of this nonsense to penis envy - something I have never understood but IS apparently out there. It's not our fault you have to sit, ladies. You're always on about how women should be treated equally - act like you believe it.

Many ladies are total weirdos about touching a toilet seat.

Lots don't sit down (and pee all over the seat as a result, disgusting cows) and don't want to touch the seat to put it down.

I prefer my husband putting the seat down mostly due to the middle of the night run. There's nothing that sets my teeth grinding faster than sitting down INTO the toilet at 4am. Cold wet porcelin and a toilet water bidet WILL make a woman shrill.

Don't you think if you were a "sitter" it would bug you to sit in cold toilet water?

Toilet seat up problems is a riduculous issue in the Mars- Venus war. Should have been easily solve years ago by putting urinals in household bathrooms. It could be also improved with less- important solutions; special wipes for bathroom seat, a handle in order to avoid touching , etc.
In fact, it is something that should be solved - It is a sanitary issue to touch a toilet seat as well as to sit on someone else's "drops"

Putting it up to go is not considerate it is kind of expected. My boyfriend, who I live with is more than capable of putting the seat up to go and down when he is done. I need the top completly closed becuase my kitty is very curious and I don't want her to fall in the toilet. gross. But when one of his friends comes over he has no idea how to put the seat down and it makes me super mad. It is only common cuteousy to put the seat down when you are done. You can try your best to remember, if nothing else to avoid arguments.

Hey Man! Just remember this simple little saying and you'll never get into trouble:

Zipper down: Seat up

Zipper up: Seat down.

Sorry, but this little battle has been fought since the toilet's invention, and it is one that you will not win. Besides, there are more important issues to be decided like "Who's turn is it to take out the trash!"

I say leave the toilet the way you found it.... I always have mine completely closed... So, it just makes sense to leave it the way you found it.. If the lid wasn't open and the seat wasn't up then don't do it.....If I'm at a bachelor's house I leave the seat(s) up and then scrub my hands like nobody's business.. Oh yeah and that's what the soap is for, just in case you thought it was decoration !

Everyone should put the lid down because when you flush a toilet with the lid up, it sprays droplets of whatever was in the toilet all over the bathroom. I don't know about you, but I don't like the idea of "waste" droplets on my toothbrush, countertop, or hand towels.

I think that everyone, male or female should leave the toilet completely closed when they leave the bathroom because it looks neater and nicer than the lid and/or the seat being up.

Do you consider, that we might get up in the night, half asleep, sit down to only fall in the toilet? Are you too lazy to lift the seat, and put it back?
