Someone asked if I thought they were fat...this is my answer in what way is it mean or suggesting doing something unsafe! Someone gave me a thumbsdown sign and I'd like to know why!

Your not fat! I have an eight year old brother who is 95 pounds so don't talk about being fat. Whoa! 18 pounds congrats! You really stuck to what you were doing (hopefully it was a safe way to lose weight) Your doing great but why not try some simple lifestyle changes I follow my 10 rules and I only weigh 80 pounds and I'm 12! (but I'm very tiny 4' 9 or 10 i think) I'm sure they'll work for you

1. Take the stairs instead of the elevators or escalators
2. Always have an active sport planned....from walking your dog to a tennis match
3. Keep eating healthy but...do not limit the amount of food you eat....you can eat allot but just not allot of junk
4. Boost your self confidence don't go on the web and say I want to know if I'm fat...that looks kind of sad because your perfect the way you are!!!
5. Never tell someone they need to lose weight (it is just mean)
6. You can try to keep a healthy lifestyle in a healthy way don't try fad diets or dropping sweets altogether these things take time
7. Make sure your numbers are in between the 20 to 80% percentiles for your weight (by the way yours is)
8. Stay happy and don't obsess with eating
9. Do 20 sit ups push ups and other stretches once a day
10. Follow the rules and have fun living your healthy lifestyle

You gave a very good answer that was very informative. I've found that a lot of people give thumbs down to every answer but their own so they think theirs will get more votes or something. They're dumb, don't worry about them!!!

keep being thoughtful and kind, just like you were here. Ignore those downers.

That sounds like a good answer, and you sound like an actual low weight. I've gotten several "thumbs down" responses to some of my answers (even ones that were awarded "best answer"), so don't take it as anything serious. I think there are some people that either get their kicks out of putting thumbs down on good answers or thumbs down an answers that aren't theirs.

To a very high degree, you should weigh as much as you feel happy with weighing.

As far as a "healthy weight", most people will say what the "average" is according to different opinions.
As long as you are at a weight where you are healthy, the most important part is that you are HAPPY with your weight... not that you "should be X pounds", but that no matter what you weigh, you are happy with that instead of striving to be a size 2 or something like that

That being said, if you want to lose weight, exercise is a really good (and safe) way to lose weight. In addition to that, I would recommend meeting with a nutritionist or dietitian to see if there is something else that may benefit you more

The thing is, you can't go by clothing sizes. For example, in levis somebody may wear a size 11, but in L.E.I's they would wear a size 8. There is no way to judge this.......and plus it depends on a persons height. For example, someone who is 5'11" and a size 11 or 12 would be considered thin, where someone who is 5'3" and a size 11 or 12 would be considered chunky/fat.

Ussually I never answer this particular question for obvious reasons. We are living in a country that put too much emphasis on looks. You can be fat,as long as you look "good". There is such a thing as bein "too skinny". If you don't have a butt, people talk about it. If you have one people will talk about it too. I cannot see you,and I do not know how much you weigh, ergo I assume you are thin.

Who cares if they gave you a "thumbs down"? People have all kinds of beliefs .. and not everyone will agree with you.

I personally hate the "Am I fat?" questions .. they're stupid and alienate others who may also be overweight. Being stupid / vain / insecure is a whole lot worse than being overweight.

My guess is they "thumbs downed" you because your answer is too friggin' long!

your overly consumed and concerned about your weight to be only 12 years old.

you need to stop obsessing yourself and go out there and just enjoy being a kid.

when i was 12 i only weighed probably 90 lbs.....but that was from just being a kid ( running, playing, riding my bike)

i did not obsess myself at 12 the way your doing and i turned out just fine.....in my late 30's and healthy!

RELAX and enjoy your childhood :-)

You know, "opinions are like belly-buttons; everybody has one." There's no telling what they objected to in particular on your response. I think it's fine. *shrug* Just chill out and move on. One thumbs-down isn't going to kill you. They could've just been having a bad day.

Good answer, someone probably gave a "thumbs down" for no practical reason.
