I know this is going to sound strange...but NEVER EVER take EXSTACY. I know many people did not have any bi-polar symptoms in their life until after they tried X. They give this stuff out in clubs and it is dangerous for some people. It's a chemical that floods you brain with serotonin while you are on it, but when yo come off it your brain is sucked dry. The chemical withdrawal is devastating. That is why they call it 'suicide Tuesday' ( the Tuesday after the X weekend). I know some people started to get panic attacks for the first time months after the X; it's that bad. So if you know anyone who has done it, tell them to just tell theirselves it is all in their mind. It's the withdrawl from that nasty chemical. It will last up to a month to replenish the natural seritonin balance of the brain. That is why they call XTC a bad NEUROTOXIN (BRAIN POISON). All the other responses for clinical signs of bipolar are right on.

Mania and depression are the opposing phases in bipolar disorder.
Mania: A person in the manic phase may feel indestructible, full of energy, and ready for anything. Other times that person may be irritable and ready to argue with anyone who tries to get in the way.
Unrealistic plans, spending sprees, an increase in sexual affairs, or other reckless behavior, such as wild driving, also may occur.
Less sleep and food than usual are needed.
The person with mania can stay up all night but may find that not much was accomplished because he or she was easily distracted.
The person with bipolar disorder may talk very quickly and jump from subject to subject. They often exhibit pressured speech during mania.
Self-esteem may be inflated.
Any decisions that are made with regard to business and finances are often not good ones.
Clothing choices may also change, and the person with bipolar disorder may start wearing brighter, more flamboyant clothes.
These behaviors, which can be quite upsetting, usually prompt a family member to take notice and try to get the person help.
Most people who are going through the manic phase of bipolar disorder deny that anything is wrong with them and refuse to see a medical professional.
They are grandiose and may have delusions (false ideas) of grandeur (greatness).

there is no real physical signs but I can tell you the symptoms of bipolar are as follows.
Signs and symptoms of mania (or a manic episode) include:
Increased energy, activity, and restlessness
Excessively "high," overly good, euphoric mood
Extreme irritability
Racing thoughts and talking very fast, jumping from one idea to another
Distractibility, can't concentrate well
Little sleep needed
Unrealistic beliefs in one's abilities and powers
Poor judgment
Spending sprees
A lasting period of behavior that is different from usual
Increased sexual drive
Abuse of drugs, particularly cocaine, alcohol, and sleeping medications
Provocative, intrusive, or aggressive behavior
Denial that anything is wrong
A manic episode is diagnosed if elevated mood occurs with three or more of the other symptoms most of the day, nearly every day, for 1 week or longer. If the mood is irritable, four additional symptoms must be present.
Signs and symptoms of depression (or a depressive episode) include:
Lasting sad, anxious, or empty mood
Feelings of hopelessness or pessimism
Feelings of guilt, worthlessness, or helplessness
Loss of interest or pleasure in activities once enjoyed, including sex
Decreased energy, a feeling of fatigue or of being "slowed down"
Difficulty concentrating, remembering, making decisions
Restlessness or irritability
Sleeping too much, or can't sleep
Change in appetite and/or unintended weight loss or gain
Chronic pain or other persistent bodily symptoms that are not caused by physical illness or injury
Thoughts of death or suicide, or suicide attempts
A depressive episode is diagnosed if five or more of these symptoms last most of the day, nearly every day, for a period of 2 weeks or longer.

Yeah, you have to tighten and loosen you lips to make the pitch higher or lower. Ask a band teacher or a music store sales person or a music store mechanic. If you buy a beginner trumpet book it should tell you all the fingerings in the back of the book. Essential Elements 2000 is good, it comes with a play along CD and a DVD. It's only like 12 bucks. Good Luck!

bipolar is the new name for manic-depressive. typically the person cycles from periods of mania where they cant stop, may be upbeat to angry, but have excessive energy and emotions. then they cycle to depressive moments that may present as sleepy, unhappy, angry, sad, no appetite. even a therapist, a good one any way wouldnt make that diagnosis without a lot of understanding of your background.
bipolar responds well to meds. if you are concerned, i would see a therapist. they can make the diagnosis and meds will be very helpful more than likely.

bipolar disorder is a brain disease/illness...
you can find quite a lot of information on line.. do a search for BIPOLAR DISORDER SYMPTOMS.
no one can diagnose you, except a trained professional, hon.
symptoms vary for each individual. mania may last for days or months, depression same... there are also normalized periods of time for many.
manic events sometimes only occur once or twice in a lifetime... for some they are off and on....
take care.
