Try www.breeders.net

you can look for type of puppy and it will let you enter your zip code so you can find the closest breeder.

Also call all the local vets. Some breeders bring their puppies into the same vet for vaccs and check ups before putting them up for sale.

You can also try the local humane societys. You would be amazed at how many people put pure bred puppies up for adoption. Or you may find a cute mixed bred that needs a good home.

Good luck!

Look for classified ads in your local newspaper. There were about 20 for yorkie pups alone in mine the last time I checked. Also, when you are looking, don't just buy the cutest one you see. Make sure it's a healthy puppy and a reputable breeder that you are buying from. You don't want to get a puppy prone to health issues or behavioral issues, and it helps if the breeder has the parents there for you to look at.

Or, you could always go to a local animal shelter... www.petfinder.com is a great place to start looking.

Check out lots and lots of breeders online in your area, check petfinder.com, try your vets office incase they know someone, look in the local paper under the classifieds, look on bulletin boards. One site I found of a breeder in Texas looks good, (yorkiepup.com) but it's really important to see the dog one on one, see their living conditions in person, and meet the breeder, etc... You could also post an ad in your local paper.

Local newspaper is better. Breeder is a good source, but most of time you don't get to see the pup, unless the breeder is local.
