People from Mexico City are the easiest to understand, followed by Colombians from Bogota . Mexico City sounds like it has no accent, but Colombia is clear, but fast and clipped. Central Americans tend to sound clearer ro me than South Americans.

I probably "hear" it that way because I live in Texas (and have a Mexican stepmother & many Mexican friends) and am married to a Colombian. Colombia is adjacent to Central America

The hardest for me are Cubans and Puerto Ricans. They sound like machine guns.

I ought to declare it is incorrect to think of that Spain and Latinamerican Spanish are the comparable and that they are merely differentiated by skill of the accents by way of fact they do no longer seem to be. merely in a u . s . a ., like Mexico, we've numerous accents: the "norteño" accessory (north region, border with u . s .), the southern accessory (Oaxaca, Chiapas), Yucatan has its very own unique accessory, and the Mexico city accents: the extreme type accessory (hated by skill of many and enjoyed by skill of others), the midsection type accessory and the low type accessory that are diverse from the the remainder of Mexico. each region has its very own accessory and that they are able to even use diverse words no longer elementary in different areas of Mexico. And we could no longer get into the indigenous accents. between each latinamerican u . s . a . there are "numerous" ameliorations of accents. i like the accessory from the north area of Mexico and the Colombian accessory. I evaluate they're very comparable. kind, friendly and robust on the comparable time.

Mexico, Guatemala, Colombia and many parts of Spain where Spanish is spoken almost exactly as you hear it in central Mexico (without the "ceceo", the "vosotros" and other archaic uses, called "castizo" Spanish, used mostly in central Spain).

Granted, the "castizo" Spanish used in parts of Spain is much more beautiful, and it is the way Spanish is supposed to be spoken, but in practical terms, it is not as clear and easy to understand as that of Mexico in general or Colombia.

The ones I understood the easiest in person were in Paraguay. I did okay with the one Bolivian I ran into also. Argentinians were okay, but it took a while to get used to the way they pronounced "ll" (i.e. calle). The hardest were Cubans, Puerto Ricans and Colombians. I'm kind of accustomed to Mexican Spanish because I hear it so much.

Spain has a horrid 'lispy' sound..grathias for gracias and Barthelona for Barcelona.I don't know how to differentiate between, say, an Argentinian and a Bolivian accent or a Colombian and a Paraguayan accent. They all sound better than the Spanish of Spain though.

I think Argentina Spanish is the clearest accent. It still uses the Vosotros, but educated speakers enunciate all the syllables clearly. Hey, who doesn't love the "ggg" sound they use when saying the "ll".
