Okay, so my ex-boyfriend and I had a sort of tumultuous relationship. We broke up because we both have depression and, let's face it, two miserable people together doesn't make anyone happy. Last time we talked (we were just friends then), we got in a big fight and he called me a selfish, mean *****.

Now, he comes back and says:
"im just going to come out and say it
i love you
everyone has told me not to tell u it. dont even consider loving her anymore. but its hard.
its hard when the person you love doesnt like u anymore.
its hard to stop loving someone when the person u love is the last thing u think about b4 you go to sleep.
its tough"

I still have leftover feelings for him, but I think it's just because I'm lonely.
I REALLY don't want to get back together with him.
What am I supposed to say?

Just tell him, "I'm sorry I can't give you the answer you want to hear, I've moved on and I thought you had too. You have to remember why we broke up, it wasn't healthy for either of us and we were moving in separate directions with all the fighting. We NEEDED each other not loved each other and I want more, I'm sorry, I know that someday you'll find some one who'll give you everything that you need but I just not her."

Sounds like I've done that before? A few times. If he tries to go one to convince you just end it with, "There's nothing more to say......"

Say that you just don't feel the same way, then you should really just leave him alone and do not talk to him. Let him have his space and get over you.

Say, "thank you for saying that....it's really sweet but I think it's best if our lives go in different directions".

Then, wish him the best and get on with your life.

Best of luck to you!

It sounds like he is being manipulative;-{ trust your instincts.
He may genuinely think it's love;-} but it's fixation.

Nothing if you dont love him dont say it.
If you dont miss him dont say it

Honesty is all you have especially now.

Tell him how you feel and if you dont know then say so.
