Athesist this quesiton is not for you. I`m not going to ask you to defend good logic and reason - this question is for "The other people"

Christians what happens to non-believers when they die? Correct me if I`m wrong but the Bible says that the Good people who accept Christ as their lord and savior go to heaven - And the demonic evil people go to Hell.
What about the indifferent non-believers? Not asking you to defend Christianity, I just want to know what It says in regards to this?

For my own personal amusement :)

God says either you are with him or you are against him, there is no middle ground which means Atheists and Agnostic and all those who do not accept Jesus as their Lord and Saviour go to hell.

Well, when we die our spirit seperates from our body (the def. of death). The body is put into the ground or whatever. The spirit is then in the Spirit World. The Spirit World is divided into two halves (probably not physically). The first half, called Paradise, is where those who have lived virtuous lives. People here are at peace and happy. The other half are for the rest of the people (those who lead wicked lives, those who were sorta good but not all that good, Athiests who lived unworthy lives, etc.). The people here experience feelings based on how full of sin they are. The truly wicked suffer greatly here because they come to realize how awful their sins actually are (I don't think it happens immediatly.) The Spirit World is not a weird ethereal place. We have the same social interactions, thoughts, feelings, etc there as here in mortality. We will still be the same person we were on Earth.

Now, the Gospel will be preached to those who are in the "bad" half by those who are in the "good" half. Those who never had a chance to choose the Gospel will have a chance to do that here. God will give every single person their fair chance.

After everybody has had a chance to choose to repent, follow the Savior, etc. the Resurrection will come. That means everybody gets their body back, only it will be perfect.

Final Judgment then comes. We will be judged by a perfect judge based on our actions, thoughts, etc. There are three degrees of glory that we might be given. The highest is the Celestial Kingdom and is what others might term "heaven." These people can continue to learn and progress forever and eventually will become like their Father in Heaven. These people lived the best lives they possibly could and were willing to give their all to do what God asked. The second is the Terrestrial Kingdom and that for people who were good and did good things but didn't fully devote themselves to God. The third is called the Telestial Kingdom. These are people who didn't do so well but it is still a good place, much happier than we can imagine. God will try to give us the best He possibly can. Finally there is the Outer Darkness. Few people go here (very few). People here are totally cut off from God's presence. The only people who can go here are people who had a perfectk nowledge of God and who He was and still rebelled against Him to His face.

I hope this helps a little. That is what will happen to Athiests...just being an Athiest isn't a terribly bad thing. Doing bad things is a different matter. So as long as you live good, decent lives you'll probably be alright in the long run. Now is the time to repent (or change), however! God does live and loves you. He wants you to succeed!

First and foremost, you have to understand that only one religion can be true. I mean if Christianity is true, then every other religion there is must be false, and likewise if say Islam is true then Christianity must be false because each religion claims absolute truth from their own supreme being (e.g. Yahweh, Allah, Buddha, Isis or whatever name of a particular religion's deity).
I have read the entire bible ( i don't claim to understand it all and i continue to read it repeatedly), but from the Christian viewpoint the only way to go to heaven is through faith in Jesus Christ (John 14:6; Eph. 2:8-9; Romans 6:23). This means that no matter what a person believes or do, the only thing that is of relevance (pertaining to his going to heaven or not), is whether or not he placed his faith on Jesus Christ. Given the premise above (only one religion can be true), if Christianity is true then even those who are indifferent with their beliefs are included to the stipulation given by Jesus.
For example, we all know about the law of gravity (what goes up must come down), suppose someone says that he doesn't believe in that law. Would he be exempted from falling off a cliff if he should jump from it? Of course not... he would still fall no matter if he believes differently.
OF course, if it is another religion is the one that is true, then it is that religion's way of salvation that would also be true. The only question now is, what absolute truth do you think is true?

John 14:6 -- Jesus answered, "I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me."

Acts 2:38 -- Peter replied, “Each of you must repent of your sins and turn to God, and be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins. Then you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.

That's what the bible says. Ultimately that's between God and the Atheist. Everyone will face God when they die and have to answer for their own actions in life. It's so sad that you use Christianity to amuse yourself, rather than to actually learn from. Have a good day, anyway.

The bible says there is none good. Its not good people \ bad people. Being a good person doing good works is not what it takes to get into Heaven. Faith in Christ is. Not saying you can just say I believe and live like Hell. After you accept Christ the good works should follow. Jesus said "I am the Way the Truth and the Life. no one comes to the father accept through Me." According to the bible anyone who dies without Christ will have their place in the lake of fire. I think some people who think they are a good person because of the great things they do just might get surprised on judgment day.

God will judge all who have heard of His Son, Jesus Christ and not accepted Him. Those who haven't heard of Christ will be judged on what they DO know about God.

The reason God is waiting so long to return is because He is giving so many people a chance to hear the Good News of Christ.

The Bible says, "the fields are ripe unto harvest," meaning lost souls need to hear God's Word. May the Lord richly bless all who read these forums and may they come to Him.

He doesnt care how good you are..he want you to believe him. You see that true Christianity is not about how much good you do, it is all about the love and grace of God; that he would give His own life so that we would never have to see hell! What a love story!

Jesus said to her, "I am the resurrection and the life. He who believes in Me, though he may die, he shall live.
so the only way is to believe him.

Well, if Benedict hadn't messed with the order of things again, I would have had to say that, if Christians were right in the end, then atheists who lived decent and moral lives would have ended up in Purgatory. But, Benedict decided there was no Purgatory. So, either they end up in Hell, or their souls just cease to exist.

Why do people put the word Atheist into quotation marks? As if it's a made-up "term".

If memory serves me correctly
The late Pope John Paul II said that all who live a just life will be accepted into the kingdom of heave, even if they do not believe in jesus.

So I will have to take the word of the pope over a Christian
