Jonah was in the belly of fish for three days and three nights signifies that the Son of Man would be in the grave for three days and three nights, the worms in the belly of fish has started to eat jonah and he cried unto God inside the belly of fish, and the fish vomited Jonah in Nineveh, this implies that Jesus been the underneath the earth, the worms in the ground must have fed on him, and the vomited of Jonah from the belly of fish means that Jesus Christ would be resurrected and at this time, he resurrect with another body (mortal body).

Resurrection power is the hope of Christians today, it was after the resurrection that Jesus was given another realm of power, that what why he was given a special seat in heaven, is not that he did have have special seat before but he had come to paid the price for us all which no man has ever paid.

I have been in earth(hell) so far in my life so I can relate. Because Hell is a place on earth. I don't get why they said three days and nights so was the son of man in the belly. It still is hell on earth.

Peace be with you, Jonah was to preach the Word of God, and get the people to repent, but those he choose would not believe his words until after he retruned from the belly of the whale, The same as Jesus. Who was Jonah do you know ?

It's related to astrology.

Men observed and pondered the stars, probably long before the thought of God ever entered their minds. Astrology is, perhaps, mans first stab at science. They observed and recorded their nightly observance of the stars . . . unfortunately, they could only go so far with the unaided eye.

One of the key observations they made was how, on summer and winter solstace, the sun halted its southern (winter) and northern (summer) progression for 3 successive days before reversing it's yearly cycle. These 3 days of LACK of movement represented death. When the cycle reversed after 3 days, it was rebirth.

It's interesting to note the winter solstace is December 22. 3 days later is December 25, Jesus' birthday.

Jonah,as far as I'm concerned ,was dead as he lay in the fish.He was not sitting in there like Gepetto ,in Pinocchio. When he was vomited up ,God restored his life to him.Just as Jesus said"I have the power to lay down my life and the power to take it back up.Both were dead for 3 days.Jonah revived but had to die again.Jesus was resurrected and lives forever.

Well? that's deep so the water will be cool if the well hasn't run dry. I drink from eternal springs in my own hills and read many stories. I manufacture them for the children also and they love to hear me share them. You so called Christians tell it like you THINK it is while I practice what my brother and father taught me and let's see if I'm called the pied piper. I'm leading them safely to safety. If you can't do your best to share that leadership, we don't need you butting in.

Very simple:

The Jonah account represents the death, burial & resurrection of Jesus Christ.

It is yet another typology in the Old Testament. Everywhere you look in Scripture, Jesus Christ is represented.

What a wonderful God I serve!
