No.

The elders who serve on the "Governing Body of Jehovah's Witnesses" are appointed from among "anointed" Christians, based on Scriptural precedent rather than Scriptural command. Jehovah's Witnesses have continued to maintain that practice, and have not indicated any plans to do otherwise.

The modern "Governing Body" performs a work similar to that of the first century governing body, who met in Jerusalem. The bible calls that ancient group "the apostles and the older men" and also "governors of you [Christians]" (see Hebrews 13:7 or its footnote).

(Acts 15:6,23) And the apostles and the older men gathered together to see about this affair. By their hand they wrote: “The apostles and the older men, brothers, to those brothers..."

(Acts 16:4,5) Now as they traveled on through the cities they would deliver to those there for observance the decrees that had been decided upon by the apostles and older men who were in Jerusalem. Therefore, indeed, the congregations continued to be made firm in the faith and to increase in number from day to day.

not sure what the rules are this week....they change so fast the average Witness has no idea what they even tought 10 years ago....and for Pete's sake, you must not look back at what your past prophecies were......

"Crisis of Conscience" by Raymond Franz exposes what actually goes on with the CEO'S of the WBTS....great tax shelter wouldn't you say......Cult publishing company disguised as the one and only true religion. Obvious example of Satan transforming himself as an angel of light..."NEW LIGHT" and all

My GUESS is that they have over 144,001 who claim to have had the Holy Spirit call them to Heaven...What now?....I suspect that soon the WBTS will propose "New Light" and change that small number.....When they started this 144,000 (doctrine?), the organization was tiny and it was thought that all witnesses would go to heaven.......as they grew, they needed to divise a place for the remainder of the people.....Earthly paradise....not Biblical.
