I am looking for the proper symbol for my next tattoo. I have been all over the web and many sites have different symbols for a dragon and for fire. I am the year of the dragon, the fire dragon to be specific. So I either want to get a tattoo of the dragon symbol or both together. Even for the dragon alone, every site has something different. What is a reliable site, so I get the true meaning? I can't decide if I want the tattoo on my neck or hip either, what do you think?

Ask a friend who is fluent in Chinese, or maybe even a Chinese restaurant owner (who of course should be Chinese descent and fluent in the language). That's the only way to get it right for sure. Ever heard the "Insert General Tso's Chicken Here" story?

If there's a college near you, ask a Chinese professor.

I personally am a sucker for wrist tattoos.

You should be able to find what you want here:

Where you put it is up to you...think about why you prefer each place. And remember that if it's visible, there may be times you'll want to cover it up!

Unless you're Chinese, I don't think it's a good idea to tack something from the Orient on you.
