What can you tell me about the wandering Jew who met Jesus on the Via Delorosa?

It appears he was condemned by early Christianity to keep wandering forever after meeting Jesus...this to fulfil a prophecy that Jesus would come again in the lifetime of at least one person who had seen him first time round...this wandering Jew must be very frail by now...who is he? anyone know? Where can I read about him?

Read My First 2000 Years by George S Viereck. It was based on a man who turned up in the 16th century who claimed to be the Wandering Jew.

Actually the Apostle John is the one who remains alive to fufill this propecy.
