I have recently been put on Social Security Disability because of all the pain . My doctors keep giving me different diagnoses. It is hugely affecting me spine and my feet burn like I have been walking on hot charcoals all night. I am so stiff, can't get out of bed with out my pain medication. I have been diagnosed with everything from degenerative spine to arthritic spine to fibromyalgia. It is affecting my entire body, my hands, my legs, my back is killing me. Do you have anything like this and what is it? Do you have any recommendations on how to loosen my spine and relieve the pain? Does Castor Oil help? If you suffer from any thing like this please advise me. Thank You.

There's no definite cure for Fibromyalagia but there are certainly many alternative methods that can help you improve the quality of your life. Physical therapy that is performed at home is very important . Deep tissue massage therapy can relieve the pain better than any medication. Warm water stretches performed at least three times weekly can be of tremendous help keeping the joints and muscles flexible. A Jacuzzi or hot tub is without a doubt one of the best treatments you can do at home, not only does it improve circulation you can also perform warm water stretches in it. If you have access to one and can use this daily you would see a tremendous change in the body. Using a moist heating pad on areas of pain for 20 minutes can ease the pain.
I also find that chiropractic care can bring tremendous relief. I always recommend people with Fibromyalgia seek out a Chiropractor who uses the activator method for physical therapy and pain relief. If you would like to find out about a doctor of chiropractic in your area who uses this method go to http://www.activator.com
Nutrition is very important with this condition as with any serious physical condition. Avoid caffeine products, sugar, processed foods and fried foods. Low blood sugar (Hypoglycemia) is often a factor in causing the person with Fibromyalgia to feel fatigued. That is why a good nutrition program is very important, eating frequent small meals with some protein is very important in keeping the blood levels even.
Whole grains, seeds, nuts, yogurt, chicken, Turkey, organic beef, eggs, natural cheese and cottage cheese should form the base of your diet. Accompanied by Appropriate vegetables and a minimum amount of fruit.
A good quality multi-vitamin is absolutely essential with this condition. It's important to replace what the body loses daily. If a person takes no other supplement but a multi-vitamin they're helping to support their body daily.

Billy 77 has it down pat if you have fibromyalgia. I had degenerative disc disease that became "failed back syndrome" after 6 microdiscectomies and then a fusion. My sciatic nerve is completely mangled. However, since the pain is everywhere, it may well be fibromyalgia. It could be rheumatoid arthritis, although that doesn't affect the back (but pain stress can). Glucosamine chondroitin with MSM helps to replace the fluid in your joints. If you've been told to do physical therapy, just do it.
No pain, no gain. Have your hubby give you body rubs. Try to keep moving. Web search the different diagnoses you've been given for more help. Best of luck to you, from another chronic pain sufferer.

Most of the time they suffer greatly and then just before the end comes there is often a peace that settles over them. Some even see visions. My Mother in Laws last words were "Master." She had been in terrible pain. Always a deeply religious woman she was a devout Christian. Suddenly she sat up in bed and stared at the wall and said "Master." Then leaned back and passed away peacefully. My Mother had suffered from a stroke for four days, then she slipped into a coma and simply seemed to go to sleep. My Dad suffered a heart attack and my Father in Law was killed in an automobile accident, so I am sure they both felt pain at the point of death. My Aunt's last words were "I hurt." It just depends on the illness and circumstance.

Back pain is the worst and probably the most difficult to diagnose. It could be anyone of those things. Or combination of those things.
If I were you I would try to get a referral to a neurosurgeon. If you don't have a recent MRI he will most likely want you to have one. So that he can determine the source(s) of your pain.
Good Luck
My husband has very bad back problems and has had two fusions and now has arthritic inflammation in the Lumbar. It took several years to find the right doctor who would listen to him and get to the root of the problems.....

This is an old thread but I had FM, CFIDS, and many severe breakdowns of all organs and systems. (chemicals during renovations post building fire in NY, chemicals at work sites (no safety precautions) second hand smoke (long before it was banned) and later Dr. Grace Ziem informs one that most personal care, household and garden products are highly toxic (see toxins in perfumes for starters, American made products - even with foreign label are made from left over petro products). I did holistic since age 18 (mother in medicine) and have degrees and extensive study in many areas (biochemistry, chemistry of art, health fields so on). I was "paralytic", had internal bleeding, pain internally, and when I barely could move (was bedridden) the FM was so painful. Long story short all healed naturally, (took a long while). I did Gerson cancer therapy as a base (had seen friend's Grandmother completely recover from end stage liver cancer and it nourishes all cells,) I put Castor oil all over me at night (not just the liver pack) and did much much more from Indian, (auvedic sorry spelling) chinese so on (the lighter therapies as I healed).
Most importantly total avoidances of all toxic products (look at the MSDS and you will see why - material safety data sheet). Most are made by the pharmeceuticals themselves, and there is no cure - as they poison. so one needs to eliminate them and give nutritional support to all cells, (tissues, organs, enzyme systems).
Also Dr. Majid Ali (my doc in NYC) writes much on all of this. The live blood cell showed damaged red blood cells, internal organs of cells damaged) and of course one hurts. The bowel is the seat of all health.
Dr. Robert Grey or any colon health book.
See Dr. Grace Ziem,
Sherry Rogers MD
Dr. Mercola
many many others
Trying to exercise when the cells are damaged makes it worse (lactic acid build up for instance after a work out, but when cells are damaged the cell can not eliminate this toxin and more damage is done).
You can get better but must improve all things that caused it to begin with. Rx will not cure or heal.
