Its either Ture or Gustaf, it is signed. Under his signature is a word beginning with 'M'
The painting is of a solitary 'young' monk looking out of a window.
On the back of the frame is written Whitelands 1912-14
Any ideas please?

Ture Nikolaus Cederström (Swedish, 1843 - 1924)
1890s. It looks like it's at the Cleveland Museum. I would have to believe that you have a copy of this lovely work... enjoy it! Hope this helps!

The M is the start of the word Munchen (have I spelt it right) which is Munich if you are a Brit.
'Guess who at large' above has done some good research - I am just adding the odd comment
