Nice Einstein quote. (I knew someone would find it). Did you find it on nobeliefs.com. If not, its rife with excellent quotes that are similar in nature.

It is not a matter of "conceiving a God who..."
God is, was and is to come. You may have a few warped concepts "about" God, but believe me, He is a GOOD God, and does go around "punishing his creatures". We do a good enough job all by ourselves. =)
Truthfully, though, sin is the culprit, and God is the cure. Sin and your human nature will always cause its own demise. God is in the saving, healing, restoring and blessing business.
So the concept of a punishing God is out of dispensational truth. But, there will be a day, when the last trump blows, and Jesus Christ, "In flaming fire taking vengeance on them that know not God, and that obey not the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ:" (1st Thes. 1:8) But not yet. Not now... so enjoy the opportunity to be right with God before this "punishing" time really does come.
Acts 2:38, will introduce you to the born again experience, where you will find God a merciful, loving, Blesser, rather than a vengful, punishing menace. It will change your mind for sure. =)

Whatever concept of God that you may have, if any, is really your business. I would make one suggestion to you, and that is that you remove notions about others' "fears or absurd egoism of feeble souls" from your thoughts on this subject.
What others believe or fear, and whether others' souls are feeble, has nothing to do with the issue at all. All that kind of thought process gives you is a sense of superiority - a sense of self-righteousness. You know what they don't - or you are above believing in their silly notions..... what does that give you? Anything?
If you believe in a god that does not reward or punish his creatures, then that's just fine.. If you believe that we do not survive our physical selves, then that's just fine. That is your "religion and spirituality" so to speak. God reveals himself to people in different ways. There is no, in my opinion, single way to God.
Even in Christianity, God is an unknowable entity. We can't look upon him, and he is described as "all powerful" (an unimaginable concept to us very limited creatures). So, can an all-powerful entity communicate in different ways to different people? Sure - even Christians say "God works in mysterious ways..."
Can God be more than one God? Can he be the Greek pantheon? Can he be the Universe in and of itself? Christianity says that God is in everything, and God is everywhere.
Is salvation through Jesus a literal concept that means, hey - you must mouth the words "jesus save me" or "I believe in Jesus" to be saved? Or, is it the words that are written on our hearts that is most important?
If you come to your belief through a sincere effort to search for the Truth, and not to be superior to others, then perhaps you have accepted redemption in your own way. Redemption is man's way of getting back to God, isn't it? We are apart from God, and God redeems us, right? Well, perhaps you can call God by whatever name you like -- the Universe --- for example - and perhaps you don't need to picture him like the paintings from the middle ages as an old man with a beard. Perhaps you can try to envision him in whatever way you honestly glean or that honestly comes to you.
If you are wrong, but came to the wrong conclusion through an honest search for the Truth... an honest search to be reunited with God, if God exists.... i.e. an honest search for redemption, if redemption be possible.... then I, in my opinion, find it hard to believe that God will not accept you.
A principle from Christianity is "Seek, and you shall find," or "seek and it shall be revealed to you."
Interesting concept, that. Two steps: seeking, and then finding. Christianity is not, therefore, about just "knowing" -- that would be a one step process - "find." That's not what it is though. Christianity is about "seeking" and then LATER, finding. Some time interval is there. Thus, some element of Christianity is about seeking the truth, and eventually finding it.
So, seek the truth, my friend. Whatever truth you find is your business, and Gods. I fail to see how anyone can honestly seek the truth with the heart and mind God gave them, and then be rejected by God. I could be wrong, of course. But I think I am right that even in Christianity, the first step is seek. You don't find if you don't seek. And the Bible says, seek, and ye SHALL find.

The fact that you cannot believe in what you cannot see, makes you very human.
Faith, the integral component of any religion, is believing in that which you can not see, hear, feel, or weigh in a physical sense.
Most people live in a logical world, believing only what they can see, hear, and touch for themselves.
I think my favorite saying is: "Logic is the beginning of wisdom, not the ending." Which means that we should be able to reach beyond logic and believe what we can't see.
Personally, I believe that there's a God who created the world, and all that's in it.

Okay, thanks for letting us know.
To be honest, I cannot imagine a God who thinks love means never having a consequence for actions taken, who is so alien to us as to not know our hearts when deciding our fate. An "individual" who comes from another dimension, another place, and fails to show us this concept. Such notions seem so harsh and unloving.
Your image of what God should be is so foreign to me, I simply do not understand ... I can only imagine that you must have had a bad example of a loving parent as a child.

who's God is that? sounds like a simplified version of "heaven and hell" concept... the old testament (torah) says that we were given free will so we have the ability to be with God or not.
you decide, if you choose to not go with God (by believing in him (deep down) but denying it anyway because of what logic tells you for example) then you go with him after you die. if you deny him after you die you just rot in the ground, and your soul is destroyed forever, nothingness (thats what the jewish people believe), and only some christians believe in hell because in the gospels Jesus made vague reverences to an "eternal fire". because of the other books in the new testament about the devil, but all the books in the new testament are based on the teachings in the gospels.
the only books that people can really say are divine are the books in the torah (genesis, exodus, leviticus, deuteronomy, numbers). and the gospels (which we believe is an account of Jesus' life and teachings)... everything else is based on those books.

God IS beyond our understanding, we can only comprehend Him in part.
Apparently you are an anarchy since you do not believe in any order.
A soul is not part of the physical body, it does survive the death of the body (you do have an understanding of it).

You can attempt to live outsideo history and reality but it will lead to extreme mental distress. The sons of God came in history and establish his Kingdom. Historical eyewitness documents in the New Testament clearly establish this historical fact. But the truth is in the pudding. Why not try a sicentific experiment and test the hypothesis? God said in his word that "if you seek him with all your heart, you will find him." Test this hypotesis like scientist would. Ask God the Father to show you the truth about the Jesus Christ? He wil if you truly ask with an open heart and an objective mind.

Now you know better to express your self like that without getting a response. Hope you learn something new.
A key factor that we all must recognize is that the vast majority of scientists who believe in evolution are also atheists or agnostics. There are some who hold to some form of theistic evolution, and others who take a deistic view of God (God exists but is not involved in the world...everything proceeds along a natural course). There are some who genuinely and honestly look at the data and arrive at the conclusion that evolution betters fits with the data. Again, though, these represent an insignificant portion of scientists who advocate evolution. The vast majority of evolutionary scientists hold that life evolved entirely without ANY intervention of a higher Being. Evolution is by definition a naturalistic science.
For atheism to be true, there must be an alternate explanation for how the universe and life came into existence. Although beliefs in some form of evolution predated Charles Darwin, Darwin was the first to develop a plausible model for how evolution could have occurred - natural selection. Darwin once identified himself as a Christian, but later renounced the Christian faith and the existence of God as a result of some tragedies that took place in his life. Evolution was "invented" by an atheist. Darwin's goal was not to disprove God's existence, but that is one of the end results of the theory of evolution. Evolution is an enabler of atheism. Evolutionary scientists today likely would not admit that their goal is to give an alternate explanation of the origins of life, and thereby to give a foundation for atheism. However, according to the Bible, that is exactly why the theory of evolution exists.
The Bible tells us, "The fool says in his heart, 'There is no God'" (Psalm 14:1; 53:1). The Bible also proclaims that people are without excuse for not believing in a Creator God, "For since the creation of the world God's invisible qualities - His eternal power and divine nature - have been clearly seen, being understood from what has been made, so that men are without excuse" (Romans 1:20). According to the Bible, anyone who denies the existence of God is a fool. Why, then, are so many people, including some Christians, willing to accept that evolutionary scientists are unbiased interpreters of scientific data? According to the Bible, they are all fools! Foolishness does not imply a lack of intelligence. Most evolutionary scientists are brilliant intellectually. Foolishness indicates an inability to properly apply knowledge. Proverbs 1:7 tells us, "The fear of the LORD is the beginning of knowledge, but fools despise wisdom and discipline."
Evolutionary scientists mock Creation and/or Intelligent Design as unscientific and not worthy of scientific examination. In order for something to be considered a "science," they argue, it must be able to be observed and tested, it must be "naturalistic." Creation is by definition "supernatural." God, and the supernatural, cannot be observed or tested (so the argument goes), therefore Creation and/or Intelligent Design cannot be considered a science. As a result, all data is filtered through the preconceived, presupposed, and pre-accepted theory of evolution, without alternate explanations being considered.
However, the origin of the universe and the origin of life cannot be tested or observed. Both Creation and evolution are faith-based systems when they speak of origins. Neither can be tested because we cannot go back billions (or thousands) of years to observe the origin of the universe and life in the universe. Evolutionary scientists reject Creation on grounds that would logically force them to also reject evolution as a "scientific" explanation of origins. Evolution, at least in regards to origins, does not fit the definition of “science” any more than Creation does. Evolution is supposedly the only explanation of origins that can be tested; therefore, it is the only theory of origins that can be considered "scientific." This is foolishness! Scientists who advocate evolution are rejecting a plausible theory of origins without even honestly examining its merits, because it does not fit their illogically narrow definition of "science."
If Creation is true, then there is a Creator to Whom we are accountable. Evolution is an enabler for atheism. Evolution gives atheists a basis for explaining how life exists apart from a Creator God. Evolution denies the need for a God to be involved in the universe. Evolution is the “creation theory” for the “religion” of atheism. According to the Bible, the choice is clear. We can believe the Word of our omnipotent and omniscient God, or we can believe the illogically biased, "scientific" explanations of fools.
Thanks

Do you really think your thinking is going to change the world, No, What you think is not of interest one bit. I believe in God & I have been a Christian for over 37 yrs. You have the right to believe what you want to, But let's see at the end who is right. You are 37 yrs too late to tell me there is no God.
