isn't there just as much evidence that thor and zeus exist as there is that the judeo-christian god exists? can anyone give me any more proof that one exists over the others?

Chlaxman, ever hear "might does not create right"? Goatman, regarding visitations of the other gods, Greek mythology is full of stories of Zeus visiting the world and often conceiving children (Hercules, for example). In Homer's "Iliad," the gods helped to create and participate in the Trojan War.

To answer the question, no one will ever be able to give you any proof that one exists over the others. The nature of religion is faith. We take it on faith that The Bible is the word of God, but really we have no proof. Archaeology rarely gives credibility to stories in The Bible, but the faithful never worry because they are never actually seeking proof. In fact, they don't want it: if one has proof, faith is unnecesary. For the faithful, the only proof guaranteed to them is the end of the world when Jesus returns and so on. So, the evangelical desire to see the rapture occur is also an implicit desire of validation for their faith.

Positivist evidence? Nope. But the Christians did come to dominate the believers of Thor and Zeus. Therefore, God had to have been stronger than both of them, correct???

No miraculous visitations of thor or zeus are reported. Saints and MAry and sometimes Jesus appear all the time. Wether you believe its hallucinations or god or spirits or what is up to you, but theres definately more evidance for Jehova than Thor.

Yeah, you're pretty much right, in that the existence of any god is essentially unprovable (although, since Mt. Olympus is a physical place, it makes most of the Greek myths improbable, but still as possible as any of the Bible stories).

I have a theory on this. In the book of Enoch it states that seven angels were put in control of the earth. Those seven angels took on mortal wives and had Titans for children. They also taught there wives the ways of magic. Sounds kind of familiar if you look at Greek mythology doesn't it.

How about the lack of evidence for the guy they call Jesus having existed?

There is no credible evidence that he ever lived.

Jesus is historically the most documented person in ancient history. God gave you intelligence, use it. He will accept your choice. He will call you several time during your life, but you might not be listening.

Only through faith and personal expirience can anything exist over the others. But I can't use my faith to justify proof to another human being.
