I waited in excess of 3 weeks for some dvd`s from the States. But then I ordered something off E-Bay on Monday of this week in the UK, payed top dollar postage and its still not arrived Thursday. So I suppose it depends on when it was posted

It depends if it was sent air mail or surface mail. If it was posted on the 27th, there have only been 7 working days since then so there's still plenty of time. There's still the Christmas backlog, and customs may want to have a look.

If the package was sent when it was supposed to be it should get to you in 7 days, 2 day of the seven is for sorting and checking by customs in the UK.

the standard delivery time is between 7-14 days but delays at the customs in the uk could mean you have to wait even longer which is frustrating.
i have been waiting for more than 14 days since my books were dispatched from the usa.
i had no choice but to ask for a full refund which i did recieve but thats not the point.
if anyone pays even for a book and you pay to have it posted to your address, it should arrive within a reasonable amount of time.
in that sense the mail business is failing us.

With the UK postal strike going on each week it can take upto a month.
Normally it should not take more than 10 days after posting

Depends what method you're using. I used FedEX from USA to UK and it only took 3 days which was great. But I think using normal mail it can take from 10-14 days.

Bear in mind that, at present, the UK is experiencing a week long postal strike.
Although not every place is affected you should expect a delay.
