I did do this five years ago. I left the USA and moved to Antigua and then to the Dominican Republic. I moved because I'm disabled and cannot afford caregivers and housing and medical in the USA. I don't regret doing it. I live much cheaper than I ever thought I could. It's been quite an adventure to learn how to live in other cultures.

Well, YES... I not only thought about it, I did it.
Back when I was around 20, I decided that I had enough of learning, responsibility and being constantly corrected so I packed my backpack and guitar and took off to go "walk-about" for several years.
Those 3 years would make a great book, but I won't bore you here. My ramblings took me across a couple of oceans, onto every continent and sub-continent and into well over 100 countries.
I supported myself by playing piano in bars at nights for the tips and playing my guitar on street corners and subway stations during the day....
I'm 67 now, and the memories from those years will last me the rest of my lifetime.

Well, I walked out of my bosses office, went to my car and wrote a resignation letter. Went back to my boss and gave it to her. It was a shocker all around and the only explination I could give is that it was time to go. Don't know why, I just started writing. Spur of the moment thing. Probably burnt out, but I moved from New York to North Carolina. No regrets, Plus I'm doing great here. Sometimes you just get that feeling and don't know why. Fortunately I was able to just pick up and go. Not everyone can do that. If you're feeling that way and can do as I did, then just do it. No regrets here.

A couple of years ago, my husband was diagnosed as manic depressive. Life was great while he was on medication, but he soon decided he didn't need it and went ballistic. Although he never hurt me physically, he would say things that made me want to hurt him physically! I was ready to pack the kids and get out, leaving everything else behind. I finally told him how I felt and he calmed down quite a bit.

Yes and the simple answer is adventure. I would like to travel all over this country and support myself with temporary employment along the way. I would enjoy the beauty of life and seeing places and things I may have never seen before.

unfortunately,,
i haven't done it yet....
because i still don't have enough money...
maybe when time comes that i have my own living that would be the best time to start on my own new life....
and when that time comes,,,i don't need to pack my old things
i'll buy my own condo unit and spend on my new furnitures....

I have, and did. Life is too short to spend one minute of it unhappy. Don't get stuck living a life you never wanted.
Best of luck!

Yes, I think about it all the time because I'm bored and feel stagnant. I will do this in the future, but not sure where and when.
