I hear this argument a lot of y answers, but I don't think women are blamed for sin coming into existence, because if you read Genesis, Adam was right there with her and didn't say a word. He could have said, "Hey eve, let's not eat that" What he did was worse. He let what he wanted to come to pass happen and hoped that he could lay the blame on Eve for orchestrating it. He didn't lead, he didn't speak up, and he sure as heck ate the apple too. He probably would have done it by himself eventually. Her sin was pride (wanting to be greater and wiser than God), his was cowardice and inaction. God blamed them both.
What do you think?

Well..........when the Bible speaks of that story, it doesn't say that Adam was right beside her at that moment when she was tempted to eat from the Tree of Knowledge. So saying that Adam was right there and let her was a false statement/understanding. 2nd it doesn't say it was an Apple and if you had actually read that story, then you would know better, in which you don't. Yes God blames them both for getting kicked out of Eden, but once again, the choice of eating from the Tree of Knowledge was entirely up to Eve and not Adam. Next time get your facts straight.

Eve is only partially to blame... God left it to Adam to make sure Eve didn't eat of the fruit. He spoke directly to Adam and not to Eve. Then Eve was decieved into eating the fruit by the serpent. And you're right this is why Adam should NOT have eaten it.

Thus this is also why Jesus was born of a woman but not of man, of God, so he is sinless, sin is passed from the man. Not saying women don't sin at all. We just don't pass it.

I hope this makes sense... I learned this in a bible study group and the guy (yes a guy said all of this) who taught the class made it sound so easy to understand.

You're right. The serpent got to her first and that makes it easy to justify Patriarchy, by portraying women as weak and foolish and foolish and the easiest route by which Evil may enter the World.

Tain't so. Women have a special power against Evil. God told the Serpent, "I will put enmity between you and the WOMAN," not the man. Maybe Eve was tempted first because once she was with the program, the snake knew that Adam would be a pushover.

The book of Exodus shows the folly of Patriarchy. Them Jews spent forty years lost in a desert not much bigger than the State of Delaware. WOMEN would have stopped and asked directions.

And wickedmanking, what's wrong with that? Like Lenny Bruce said, "I couldn't love a woman who didn't suck."

Well the truth of the matter is, if when you where reading your bible you didn't stop at Geniuses you would have also red that after the incident with Adam and Eve men did not stop falling to the deceptive hands of women. And up to this present day we are still in trouble, but we still love you.

Men and women are equally to blame! Eve may have been duped by the serpent, but Adam was stupid enough to listen to Eve! They BOTH partook of the fruit and BOTH paid the price as we all still do today without God in our lives.

The Bible doesn't blame women. Men are the ones held accountable.
Romans 5:12 Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned:

The blame always comes from those who are trying to cast Judaism and Christianity into a negative light that just doesn't exist in actuallity.

BTW, have you ever wondered what would have happened if Adam and Eve had confessed their sin to God instead of playing the victim and blaming someone else?

My next door neighbor is a preacher and he blames Eve for sin and death entering the world of mankind.

The Bible says different. It says it's Adam

Rom 5:12 Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned:

1Co 15:22 For as in Adam all die, even so in Christ shall all be made alive.

Some go back to the days of Adam and Eve, Eve took the apple and shared it with Adam. If Adam would have used his brains, he could have refused the apple, but what does that tell you?

I think the bible was written by men. Why were all the prophets men? So many religious people who have God and Jesus as the base of their religions have the mother Mary as their most precious symbol, and yet, so many people think that women are 2nd class citizens, and even if they live with the guidlines that modern political correctness dictates, they still hold these beliefs within their hearts.

Yin and Yang! We are different made for different purposes but we are equal!

I think that God is a lot wiser than the people on Yahoo/Answers. They WERE both to blame.
