i want my tongue pierced but my friend said i cant because i have that thing on the bottom of my tongue like a vein or something does anyone know what this is and can you still get it even if u have this????????

Everyone has veins in their tongues (well, all over your body actually), so everyones tongue bleeds when you get it pierced. I can't imagine what you tongue looks like that you couldn't get it pierced, but go to a professional place and they'll tell you if there's a problem. Be sure to have some ice chips at home, and a big bottle of Listerine (Crest ProHealth is actually my preferred). And by the way, it doesn't hurt. You don't have a lot of nerves in your tongue, same with the belly button. And make sure you eat a lot before. You won't be in the mood to eat for a while, and when you do it's a bit strange getting reaccustomed so eating is slow and takes a lot of time.

Everyone has that vein on the bottom of your tongue...it's rumored that if you accidentally pierce that you could bleed. I've never actuallly heard of that happening, but what I have seen first hand is many people hideous chipped teeth because of the tongue ring. Now that's relaly attractive! You'll look like a super model!

hi. i have had alot of friends try to get there tongue pierced but couldnt. everyone has veins on there tongue. but the reason my friends couldnt get it done is because one of there veins ran right threw where the tongue ring would go. you should go and ask somebody that does it what they think.

You need to be extra careful with tongue rings there's a direct connection from your tongue to your heart so any infection you get could go straight to your heart and really complicate things. Honestly, being part of a fad isn't worth risking your health.

Everyone has veins in their tongue. I have mine pierced and you just need to make sure your piercer knows what he/she is doing. If they do, then they will make sure they don't hit those veins! So yes, you still can get it done just make sure you go to someone you trust. good luck!

Tongue Rings are cool, I loved mine, but it broke my tooth and cost me over $500 to fix it. So I do not recommend them at all.

Everyone has veins there. Your friend probably just doesn't want you to do that because it's painful and risky. It could get infected and cause you a lot of problems.

just go to the shop and they will tell you if thats a problem or not dont let your friend put you down :) and also if your concerned enough tell them to look at your tongue and tell them what your friend said made you concerned and they will tell you the right stuff.

Well, I can't see your tounge from here, so I can't help directly, but I would ask, does your friend do piercing professionally? 'Cause if not, then what would they know about it? Get yer butt in to see a professional, show them your tounge, and ask them about it. Odds are, you're fine.
