It depends on you really. Certain people can carry off tattoos better than others.
I think that design sounds like it would be nice, not too big, (medium sized) with the tail starting at the base of your neck.

If you've never had a tattoo before, I would seriously consider getting something small first. This allows you to discover your own pain threshhold as well as giving you an idea of how the larger finished product will look on your skin. If you get something smaller in a discrete area, you can look at it as often as you like, and figure out if you made the right decision, without having it on display to everyone. If after a year you still love the smaller one, then you have a pretty good idea of whether you would love a bigger one too.
When you do decide to get a tattoo, ask around and get a personal recommendation, and try to see the tattoo artist's previos work, there is nothing worse than having a botched tattoo for the rest of your life.

A tattoo is a personal thing! Dont let anyone tell you you should or shouldnt get one! Its your choice and everyone has different opinions!
But I would advise you to get a small one on your arm or somethin first to be sure you are comfortable with having one! You dont want a massive one and then decide it was a bad idea!

I thonk you should test the waters with a small tattoo in an unobvious (not sure of the correct word soz) place then you'll know about what its like. Although you seen a bit unsure so maybe you should think on it for a while before getting it.

Depends on your personality...can you carry off an enormous scorpion with your body style and cool character or are you 6 stone in a wet overcoat and a train spotting geek? You get my meaning?

I think it is best to start out small just in case you are someone who doesn't tolerate pain well, whose skin doesn't tolerate ink well, etc...
BUT getting a tattoo is a very personal decision. I f you really want it, GO fot it.
