I got my wisdom teeth pulled on Monday, I had 6 of them though. It's Thursday and I haven't been able to have a full night of sleep ever since. I always wake up when my pain killers ware off. But when they do ware off I have a throbbing pain in my lower right side and sometimes the pain killers don't even help. I am in excruciating pain but mostly really early in the morning.

I'm going to see my dentist today at 3:30 but I'm wondering how long it will take to heal and if it sounds like I have a dry socket?

Thanks :)

What you describe sounds like you have a dry socket. When you have a dry socket it takes alot longer for your gums to heal. We would use dry socket paste that we put in the extraction site to help speed up the healing process. You may have to have this done a few times before you see results. Good luck and I hope you feel better soon.

Pain around the sockets and seeing holes instead of them closing up are good symptoms of dry socket.

I had dry socket when i got mine out, back in 1994/5. NO FUN! Hopefully what they have to close up the sockets are a lot better than what I had, the taste was horrible and nasty.
