Hi... i took abilify for a period of time... and it did help me; however, i had a rare side effect and had to quit.

it's a very expensive medication.

you can probably do a web search on Abilify Side Effects to find out more

when we need medications, sometimes we have to try a few before we get the 'right' one for us. just because a medication works for one person, doesn't mean it's going to do the next person one bit of good.

work with your doctor, is my best advice.

Actually, Ablify is chacterized as a anti-psychotic. I was trying it for manic symptoms associated with being Bipolar 1.

I took Abilify and tried real hard to make it work. I was switching from Seroquel because I gained alot of weight on Seroquel and Ablify is supposedly weight-neutral.

But when I took it, I was SO anxious and revved up. I wanted to punch people, punch walls, punch anything because I had so much anxiety. It was horrible!

Other people have said this too. I had to stop taking it and went back to Seroquel.

I hope it works for you. But that was my experience.

I took it for a little while but it didn't help me at all. I was on a bunch of medications at the time and I was sooo tired-they knocked me out and I slept all day. So if you're sensitive to medications and get tired easily you may want to stay away from Abilify.

I was put on Abilify for Bipolar 2 and started out with 5mg at bedtime. I only took one dose because it made me feel awful when I awoke. I was sick to my stomach, VERY shakey, and found it hard to even walk. This med was too much for my system to handle. Good luck.

abilify is used for depression, and mood stabilizer. The drug is known to work very well with little or no side effects.
