I'm seriously wondering this. Do you feel happy? Justified? Does it make you sad?

Thanks.

No, I don't mean saying "Go to Hell" as an expression. I mean telling someone that they will face eternal damnation.

Some people say it with glee.

First of all, I don't like saying it, because it is uncaring about their feelings, and for that reason, I dislike talking about this topic.

When cornered and asked whether I believe someone will go to hell for doing such and such or not doing such and such, I try to word it as kindly as possible, but not gloss over the truth as I see it.

To me, the difference is whether someone is asking because they want to know where to spend eternity. If I think a person is in that situation, I'm glad to share what God has shown me in the hopes that they will realize that there is hope for something very worthwhile.

However, in any other case, I'd rather not say anything uncaring or cruel to that person. To tell a person that they are going to hell just because you don't agree with them or to do a blanket judgment on a person, will not win anyone over.

I don't believe in Hell so I can't really tell anyone that I think that they are going there. I have been told that I was going to hell for the simple reason that I don't believe in it. What kind of sense does that make? "You are going to hell because you don't believe in it"

Most people don't really come off as happy when they say it but they do kind of come of smug. Powerful feeling maybe.

But for all of the Christians out there I must point out that it is a "sin" for any of you to tell anyone that they are going to hell. God has not given you any kind of special permission to judge others. By telling someone that they are going to hell you are taking over God's job in a way don't you think? I doubt he will be very pleased.

With Love and Blessings,
Peace

I do not force on anyone my beliefs which I heard and learned from the Holy Spirit we talk to. I believe that what He says is true because they agree with what is in the Bible and His prophecies have been fulfilled or are being fulfilled.

It is good that here in Yahoo Answers, I just have to share what I know and do not have to argue against anyone unlike in Google Group or in other forums I participated in. I know that it will be difficult to change the beliefs of anyone.

I usually don’t say to anyone that he will go to Hell if he does not listen to me. That is his choice. He has his freewill. It makes me sad though that his soul will be sent to Hell. If only he would believe in the signs, he may change. How I wish that he becomes enlightened.

I have never told a person they were going to go to hell. How a person could get satisfaction from that is beyond me. And, for some it seems to roll off their tongue the same way "Good Morning" might. . . .in all honesty I feel sorry for the people who say it because they must be very sad people.

And, for those who say they are simply "telling the truth", lol. . .when did you get inside information from God, because the last time I checked He is the one and only judge of a man's heart.

When a Christian tells me I am going to Hell I get offended. Not because I believe that Hell exists, but because I feel judged and condemned. It makes me think "Who does s/he think s/he is to tell me what will or will not happen to my eternal soul?"

I misred your question. I thought you were asking how we feel when we are told we are going to Hell. I'm very interested to see the answers to your questions because I have often wondered how it makes people feel to tell others they are going to Hell. I have Southern Baptist "friend" who tells me this all time - with a smile - like it's funny...

I do not judge others in such a fashion! That is for God to decide! I would never presume to do such a rude thing! And I fail to understand how anyone else could!
You could say someone could be in trouble or jeopardy, by a certain behavior, but to come right out and tell them they will go to hell, no, I would not do that!
Helping a person, and judging them, are two different things! and if someone ever presumed to say that to me? I would promptly tell THEM where to go!

A friend of mine has a song about the glee aspect and how disturbing it is.

When I tell people they're going to hell, I'm generally grinning.

I frequently answer returned with good judgment (this type of Fundy reacts to good judgment like Superman to kryptonite) and say: If my theory is that there is not any God then there would properly be no devil.... So there is not any heaven and without heaven there would properly be no Hell.... So i'm unlikely to certainly one of these place, yet thank you to your enter you basically shown my opinion on hypocrisy and faith. i discover it particularly is as diplomatic as i will get with human beings like that.

It makes every believer sad. No true believer either can say someone that s/he is going to Hell or can laugh at this case, if they really knew that fuel of Hell is humanbeings and stones.

I am sad when people hate God, but I don't tell them they are going to Hell. That would be judging their souls, and I am just a human and cannot do that.

I can Pray for them, and be their friend and support them when they are in need. Hopefully, being there for them and being a good example of my faith will make them interested.

But you cannot force morality or faith.

Peace be with you.
