dog fighting becoming a racial issue??? In my opinion the reason it has received so much publicity is because he is a football star not because he is black. It is so sad to me that this becoming racial and not staying focused on what happened to those poor babies. I don't understand.......

Oh and btw I own a 9 month old lab/staffy mix and she is the sweetest, smartest dog ever. Very hyper, but still sweet! :)

It does not matter that he is a football star, BUT this sick sport goes on daily all around the country and it has NEVER received this much media attention. It is only because of who he is and that's sad that it has taken this to open people eyes to what happens to these innocent dogs.

People are going to blab out anything that they can to force an issue, without caring about the real issue, which is the dogs!! It does not matter if this man is black , and it does not matter that he is a football player. He still should get what he deserves.

It's only becoming racial because someone is trying to take the focus off the crime and make it a poor pitiful Michael Vick story. That, or for some unknown reason, they think that's an acceptable excuse for being involved in dog fighting... It's a cultural thing???
It's all BS!
The bottom line is if he has been involved in this heinous crime as the evidence seems to show, he should have the whole bookcase thrown at him.

I dont see it as racial eather. Any time the NAACP can get some airtime they will but i have heard some very proment black sports media ppl telling the NAACP to just sit down and shut up. Race will always be an issue with things like this and that is a very sad fact. but a fact it remaines. But he is not on trile for race issues he is on trile dog fighting. i love dogs and i love football but dogs will always come b4 football when it comes to something like this.

I too have seen on the news that this has become a racial issue. It is sad to see that it took someone well known ( well not by me, lol) to bring this situation to light. I think he could have used his "celebrity" status for good, not bad. I dp agree with you though this is not a black and white issue, it is a moral issue. What he did id sick and wrong and he should be punished as well as the lesser known offenders!

Most things tend not to get fixed until something bad happens or in this case, someone newsworthy got caught doing it. That's just reality. Doesn't matter to me why it's finally become an issue just that it has. Won't change anything though. Those who run these rings will just find some place else to do it.

I think it has gained a lot of tv time because he is a major football player. I think I have heard something about him being black and it playing a role which I think is stupid. He broke the law and hurt innocent animals while doing it, he deserves to be in trouble. He will be in trouble now because his co-defendant plead guilty and made a deal so now you know he is guilty.

He is a prominent sports figure, hero figure to many.
As such, these people are supposed, at minimal be decent.
This issue is the treatment of animals, it sparks the ire of a majority of the public sentiments.
Being black to me is irrelevant, he is a very selfish, nasty cruel Man - and I'm being polite.

why would you think that it has become a racial issue i dont see that .I see him never wearing an nfl uniform again and his life is over as he knows it . He will have to do some pretty heavy liquidating . I am sorry but he did it to himself . good luck .
