She is only 9 years old and I often find her worrying and crying over the slightest things. It is difficult to confront her about anything, because she breaks down. This isn't a spoil child reaction this is a reaction to being scolded and yelled at, to consequence. But last night it got worse when she couldn't sleep because she was worried if her baby sister got out of bed she would hurt herself, because she didn't clean the room. No amount of soothing helped, no amount of logic helped. I'm at my wits end.

Let me clarify I know the difference between tantrum and other reaction. I know how to she reacts when she doesn't want to do something. What I am asking about is when she is asked about something, even if she is not to blame she begins to panic and feels as though she is being attacked. She asked to go to something once and her father simply began asking her questions about the details and because she was uncertain of the outcome she started to cry. We had to tell her no she couldn't go, because we didn't want to reward her tears. Last night she was in tears because her mind was jumbled with worries. She was worrying about everything the logical and unlogical.

You should have been concerned enough to "call the doctor" as soon as her symptoms manifested. She needs to be evaluated immediately in order to find out the origin of her "worrying and crying" and determine the appropriate course of treatment.

im sorry to hear that, i suffer from panic attacks and have been since highschool. its nothing medical... just sounds like she has an anxiety problem, not panic attacks. panic attacks she would think that she is dieing. first time i had one i called 911 on myself because i thought i was having a heart attack.

the only thing that works is CBT (cognitive behavioral therapy), which basically just educates them enough about the attacks so when they get the attacks that know that its just an attack, and that theyre going to be just fine. sounds like she just has a high level of anxiety...

theres no perfect time to go to therapy, i would say set up and appointment when you think that they arent going to go away.

feel free to message me if you want to ask me about it, ive had them since highschool, and have been seeing one of the founders of CBT. and its been working pretty well.

hope this helps.

You need to have her see someone Now. Children sometimes hide things from there parents. I would be reluctant to put her on an medication no matter what they might say but make sure she sees someone.

You need to call on the LORD. How long has it been since you and your family went to church? Look up James Dobson ( Focus on the Family) on the Google search...... go to his website, He's all about children and families!! :) Hope I helped you.......

PS......A 9 year old child doesn't need to be on a medication for handling life's problems...!!!! !!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

you could talk with her pediatrician.. perhaps he or she would have some good suggestions for your daughter.

sometimes we need to get our children help outside of the home. when i was divorced, my 8 yr old son was in therapy for two years -- and he got to like his therapist very well... it really helped him with his problems

hugs
