O how I wish that the christian zealots (and Im not saying all of them are...just a select few) would stop answering these questions.

Here I will give you what Wikipedia says about Astral Projection.

Astral projection (or astral travel) is an interpretation of an out-of-body experience achieved either awake or via lucid dreaming or deep meditation. The concept of astral projection assumes the existence of another body, separate from the physical body and capable of traveling non-physical planes. Commonly such planes are called astral, etheric, or spiritual, and is explained in terms of the spirit or astral body leaving the physical body to travel in the spirit world or astral plane. The concept of astral projection has been familiar for thousands of years, dating back to ancient China and other ancient cultures.

Those who are regarded as psychics often say the subconscious (dreaming) mind controls the spirit or astral body, resulting in falling dreams or waking up with a falling sensation and sudden jerk. Many end with the feeling of suddenly "falling" or "snapping" and sometimes "pulling" back into their physical bodies. Most non-lucid dreams are not remembered by the conscious mind, making the experience of astral projection subjective. Believers in astral projection point out, though, that most ghost sightings often define the ghost as a lucid or transparent apparition walking the earth.

It is generally accepted by those who credit the existence of Mediumship that while a person is alive he or she eventually wakes up consciously, but after death or even during sleep, the subconscious assumes the functions of the active mind.

Ok with that said.... There is alot more to it than laying down and meditating and deciding "now I am going to leave my body" It takes practice, and dedication.

Also I wouldn't recomend looking up anything dealing with your spirituality online in a new topic, its so hard to weed out the crap from the actual intelectual material. (There are far too many people on here who think that magick and the astral planes are something out of a dungeons and dragons manual)

Here are some books I would however recomend that you pick up and READ THOUROUGHLY before attempting such an endevor.

Mastering Astral Projection: 90 Day Guide to Out-Of-Body Experience By:Robert Bruce & Brian Mercer

Practical Guide to Astral Projection by Melita Denning and Osborne Phillips

Out of Body Experiences: How to Have Them and What to Expect by Robert Peterson and Charles Tart

Successful Astral Projection to the Space and Universe by Sapphire

Soul Flight: Astral Projection and the Magical Universe by Donald Tyson

Ok thats my two cents worth of information... normally I don't give out that stuff, because Im all about people looking things up on their own... but from reading what goes on, on here some one would have given you absolute crap information, or the uber-christians would just tell you how its satan's way of claiming your soul.

Good luck, please read at least 1 of these books before you give this a try....

My best wishes

Hello,

I heard of it but it fails miserably under scientific scrutiny.
When people go to sleep in a room with scientist monitoring they took a book or magazine and put it on the roof above. If astral projection really happened the person's spirit should be able to float up and get the title of the book. No subject has been able to do that so I say it is nonsense. How much simpler can an experiment be?

yes, I have been "out of body" several times. And no, it is not made up and I am not striving for attention. When I went out of body, I levitated to the middle of my room, went through the ceiling and saw the attic for the first time in my life. I then flew out of my house and saw the cars below me. I flew around the trees in front of my house, then came back in through my parents room who I saw sleeping. (I was living at home at the time). I then levitated back to my room, and there was my body, with my eyes wide open. Then with a jolt, I was back into my body and I woke up. That morning, I asked my father to get a ladder so I can see what is up in the attic. And when I went up there, everything was there as I had seen it.

Astral projection is not made up. My father has done it and I have done it. It is not satan's work, it something that cannot be explained. I am not going to lie, it is scary at times, sometimes you can be between the body and the astral field and your body feels as if you are paralyzed.

If you are interested, pick up a book about it. Read up on it. Everyone can do it if you practice. E-mail me if you want any suggestions....
