the world isn't screwed like some people think. If we work together to save it, i believe we can do it. If everyone cared about it it would already probably been being cut down.
What we can do to stop it.
1. Turning off lights
2. Using energy saving light bulbs
3.RECYCLING
4.putting decomposable trash into a compost pile
6. buy greener cars
7. DON'T LITTER
8.Carpool so you waste less gas
9. write to the mayor/governor/president to put sccrubbers on ALL smokestacks
10.pay bills online instead of through mail
Can anyone think of anything else? that's all i got.
I really want to save this earth. Do you? if you do please post another way to conserve our earth..with some willpower and some faith, we can save earth and maybe even totally reverse the global warming process! Now.
Do you want to make a difference? (that's a rhetorical question)

Do not focus on any one single thing to do. To suggest so ignores the links that exist both overtly and covertly when the balance is disrupted. Global warming is the subject of the moment. It is terrifying, may or may not be reversible, and probably has been contributed to by human activities since the industrial revolution. There are some brilliantly written articles that deal with the science. I always want to know who the fundmaster is for reports that say that we can carry on regardless. Like taking out insurance, you may never need it but you err on the side of caution. Therefore we should all cut down on waste and the questioners list is a good start. In addition.
Stop using plastic bags, made from petro chemicals thay are also responsible for devasting marine life & poisoning our land.
Stop buying cheap goods from China. The companies are mainly the rich multi nationals, they moved jobs from their own nations where factories already were to make greater profits. The workers have been stripped of their lands and are in virtual slave conditions. They are going through now what our working classes went through in the 18th & 19th centuries. Their elite are no different to our aristocracy then. An over simplification/generalisation I know but their own rulers are said to be concerned, and they a repressive regime.
Stop buying hardwood garden furniture. I do not believe there is any significant area of "sustainable hardwood" as the labels say, anyone can print a label.
Ban outdoor heaters, it's outside for heavens sake, put a woolly on or go inside.
Stop wasting food, the entire world relies on each harvest in every country, a bad harvest in the grain belt will put moans about the cost of running cars into perspective.
We probably won't learn, people are trying to think of greener ways to do all the things they want to do, fly, drive, use electric gadgets. Why should a PC all plastic, wire & glass built in a huge factory, shipped round the world, distibuted from a huge warehouse by juggernaut to an out of town retail unit and using electricity be better than paper from managed woodland (softwood is managed) delivered by someone who is coming to the door anyway?
Stop ignoring the elephant in the room. There are far too many humans in the world and they all have "rights". We in the rich west want, want, want and are "entitled" to all the basics and all the trimmings. Well we're not and one day it will really hit us because the natural world is always the area that is depleted. "When the last tree is cut down, when the last river is poisoned, when the last fish is caught, then and only then will you realise that you can't eat money" so said a native American chief in the 1800's.

I think that there are two more things you can add to your list that would be very helpful in the fight to save our planet and they would also save the money in your pocket.
If everyone lived in a home/apartment/etc... that is size efficient instead of mansions, or having 5 bedrooms for 3 people, etc... they would be saving money on energy bills and thus leave a smaller footprint.
But I believe the biggest contribution would be everyone's mouth! Spread the word! Let the uninformed and misinformed know that not only would these anti-global warming ideas save our planet, but also save them money.
Money talks to more people because they don't think that global warming is a here and now idea, but in the distant future. If it isn't knocking on their door then they won't answer it.
Green living also saves the green in your pocket. This type of awareness will speak louder than saving the planet because they can hold the dollar bills in their hands.

Tell you what I'm so green I'm sick of it . I gave up allot of my comforts but i have not seen a rich person give up anything . There all still driving there SUV,s with the air on ,still living in comfort in the 6 bedroom house fully air conditioned with 2 people living in it , still taking 4 or 5 vacations a year flying all over the world , swimming pool with filter running 24/7 they may use it a couple times this year .
You should ask this [ Does anyone have anymore tactics to stop the rich from using so much energy. ]
Personally I'm sick to death of giving up what little comforts i do have . The rich use more energy in one day then i use in a month . Why should i give up one more thing just so they can continue using all there's .
I'm 51 years old .I ride my bike most of the time. I run my home entirely from solar that i built myself from junk . I'm not about to give up anything more . Go after the rich take there riches teach them to conserve .
Its all turning into a big joke and the jokes on the poor people . I don't see rich giving up a damn thing. In fact i encourage poor people to use as much energy as they want or can afford why let the rich bastards use it all who the hell are they anyway.

possibly if we actually knew what's the basis explanation for worldwide warming, shall we handle it. comparable is authentic with worldwide cooling, which became the massive difficulty some years back. people might or won't have a measurable impression on the earth's climate. The sunlight incredibly does. The sunlight is going by using ranges/cycles that have a great impression on our climate. The rotational velocity of the earth has an result on the earth's climate. The axis of the rotation has a reasonable wobble to it, bringing us closer to the sunlight at semi-familiar durations. attempting to appreciate the components of earth and the reasons of it is fluctuations is equivalent to predicting the components. in basic terms one million situations extra complicated. And we are fortunate to get a good one million week forecast from our climate human beings. Do each and every of the eco-friendly issues you are able to. they are helpful and make stable hassle-loose experience. yet pay attention of falling into the international WARMING PHOBIA which could finally end up costing a fortune and doubtless have not have been given any impression by any ability.

I have been promoting adoption of prayer 5 times a day by all men and women. There are commands for prayer, communications for prayer across the holy texts. The men and women from the past respected and honored are those who were practioners of payers. All the messengers were practioners of prayer. With this practice, we can transform leisure use pattern. We will be eliminating the decision for many engagements where fossil fuel is used for transportation. Prayer can be performed anywhere with clean clothes, body and place.Muslim perform prayer 5 times a day. There is command for prayer in a Sanskrit text called Shiv Sankalp Taru. There are commands in Bible and Toral. Guatama Buddha was a practitioner of prayer. Prayers helps us in keeping the Satanic insinuations and suggestions away. Prayer helps us in abstaining from drinking and adultery. We do not indulge in exhibitionist dressing and look for pious and permitted relationships that are stable and safe with forgiveness of each others mistakes in married life. Prayer is connected thus with ecologically safe lfeistyles. It is helpful in managing the stress. It helps us in performing tasks better.

I find it easier understand to from this view:
Reduce energy consumption. This can be transportation, production, heating, using appliances, etc.
Reduce GHG emissions, and possibly other positive forcing's.
Increase the removal of GHG's from the atmosphere. (This can be trees, new technology such as attempts to increase natural CO2 absorption, and so on).
New technology that affects the radiative forcing components, or their middle-steps. (This can be the famous "mirrors that reflect sun light, etc.)
Inform the public about steps they can take and why they should take them. For instance, the damage they will avoid, and the economic benefits in the long run.
Make it profitable to make these steps.

Those suggestions you listed ARE NOT BIG ENOUGH in my opinion.
Check out the 30-cent-a-day electric pickup truck. You can bring your vehicle for conversion to non-gasoline at a number of outfits all over the world. (Let me know if you need information about electric car converters.)
Check out my nearly-free-energy, solution-to-pollution vehicle. This is not a theory, this is an everyday working vehicle in Vancouver. We've got other "free rides' too, electric bikes and scooter that work off "dead batteries".
Did you know Vancouver is a battery-tech city?

no the world isn't screwed... we are! there have been at least 5 great extinctions in world history and the earth has bounced back... no problem. We (the human race) are the cause of the sixth great extinction... and when we have done our job, the earth will shrug us off and everything will be back to business as usual.

A major one would be meet your electricity needs through your own rooftop wind turbines or solar panels. I, too, care about this Earth and want to do all that I can to save it. Planting trees would slow global warming too.
