Black-chinned Hummingbird, Anna's Hummingbird, Costa's Hummingbird, Calliope Hummingbird, Broad-tailed Hummingbird, Rufous Hummingbird and Allen's Hummingbird all lay 1-3 eggs.

Most species usually lay 2 eggs. I have monitored many Anna's, Allen's, and Black-chinned Hummingbirds nests and have NEVER seen 3 eggs in a nest, but have seen a few with only 1 egg.

I saw a beatiful photo of a tiny hummingbirds nest. It was smaller than a quarter, and contained 3 super-tiny eggs. It didn't appear that the nest cold hold more than about one more egg, so I would estimate that they usually lay 3 or 4 eggs.
Does anyone have a more definite answer?

There are 325 to 340 species of hummingbirds, so an answer is hard to give.

You can look up information on the species you have at the site below.
