Trust isn't the issue, it's about safety. Bad things happen to even the most cautious person at night. Muggers, drug dealers, drunk drivers, and a host of other dangers escalate at night time. A parent's worst nightmare is a 2 am call from the police telling them their child has been injured or worse.
If giving their children a curfew keeps them a little bit safer, then it's worth it. You may think it's unfair, but you are SAFE.

ALL children, up to the age of 16 AT LEAST, should have curfews. If a parent truly cares about raising a mature, responsible person, then curfews are just the beginning!

we love you and want you safe there are a lot of adults out there that want to hurt kids day and at night. So that is one of the ways where we want you home at a disent hour. Some parents trust their kids but we still give you a curfew. Trust your parents and don't get mad.

Yep. You nailed it. They don't trust their children, and more times than not that distrust is well earned. Don't forget that parents are responsible for their children's actions and are often liable if their children get in trouble. A good parent will make their children earn their trust before they let them stay out too late. It is common sense.

giving you a cerfew i feel has nothing to do with trust, it has to do with you being safe and coming home to a place where you know you can feelsafe. sure parents can go off their heads by telling you what to do and not what to do and it really bugs you but this one of the ways they can see that you are are safe and that they can learn to trust you if they ask you to come home on time. it is their way of showing you they care even though you dont see that now you might later on in life.
