Bless you, I find that being in the house alone all day makes my depression worse, so instead of being at home resting (like my sister tells me I should), I go out to work though only part time again as I overdosed at the weekend.
As you are not having many hours at work a the moment have you tried volunteering for a few days. I volunteered at an animal rescue centre but there are other places such as the samaritans, summer youth work etc, anything that gets you out of the house and distracts you from yourself.
It seems that you were pleased with the progress that you were making, remember this is just a small set back and you'll soon be back to recovering. You should be proud of how far you have come, ignore some of the other nasty comments on this thread, these people ought to be more understanding and open minded. Good luck and find something else to keep you out the house. Have you tried spending a day with a friend.

soem of the people on here are ridiculous!!!
i cant even believe some of the things they have said .. i am actually so angry now !
but .. hey
and i know exactly how you feel . even though i am 15, since the summer holidays have come i have been throwing up soo much more and eating and eating andeating just because i have nothing else to do ..
all of these people on here telling you about the dangers of it are useless in my oppinion , as even though i know the dangers of it , it is an addiction and i know that i cant stop without help now [2 years of it for me]
the only advice i can give which may sound hippocrytical as i havent been doing it , is to try and get out of the house as much as you can. put yourself in situations where you are munable to binge AND purge, stay over a friends house , where you cant throw up 3 or 4 times a day and hopefully it will get under control again .. if not then lik eme you are just going to have to look forwrd to work again :)
i know this isnt much of a help but i wanted to answer just to say you are not alone and those inconsiderate idiots who have said things really have no idea what they are talking about.
i hope you feel better soon and the depression also eases up
xxxx

I guess being in the house and being bored, your mind is less occupied. What about going out for a walk, cycling, finding some hobby you can do at home, like buy something at the hobby shop to do. Also maybe you should see a therapist that can help you.
I have anxiety depression and I have been trying an alternative therapy called Emotional Freedom Technique and it has really worked for me and helped me a lot. Since using it I have been feeling a lot better. It's very good at getting rid of all kinds of negative emotions and dealing with all kinds of issues quickly. It does sound bizarre but does work. Might be something that can help you. These are some links about it. If you look in the search engine of the first website emofree.com and type bulimia you should find lots of articles about EFT being used on bulimia.

It is the same with dieting, i was 18 stone and lost 8 stone. I found it simple to do, but being in the house is the hardest, if i was bored i would have a massive battle of conscience with myself.
Our minds are very funny things, when we have problems or addictions there are triggers that set it off. Example for smokers, when they are stressed they want to smoke. When people wanting to diet feel depressed they want to eat.
As long as you are aware of your triggers, try and make your life easier by avoiding them until you feel stronger, go out on your own when your friends are at work, go to the cinema, join a club or do a course at college, you need to be focusing on other things in your life to help you recover.
Are any of your family members around during the days? X
Edit... Don't listen to the idiots, some people on this thing are just really nasty. Do you think they would have the nerve to say it to your face? I don't think so, some people are so unhappy in their own little lives that they have to get their anger and frustration out somewhere. Pity them, it is so very very sad!!!

Hi.. sorry you're having these issues, hon.
Are you in therapy? Maybe it's time to consider talking with someone if you're not already? And be consistent about it, and give it a good chance to work. It takes time to get to know a therapist and for things to start working.
do you have a hobby? are you interested in art or some sort of creativity? maybe you could explore your inner self and find something to do to take up some time? we all have some kind of talent!
or you might consider a class of some sort? Karate? Self Defense? Join a gym? go to the library -- get some good books.. or movies.... get together with family/friends when you can.
Hon bulemia takes time to work through, and i see you're trying. Boredom does NOT help though. I know, believe me!
Walking could be a good thing for you, also... it gets you out, and a 30 minute walk, can really enhance your mood.. if you try it, you may see what i'm talking about!
One more thing, and i'm very serious here... allowing others to control our emotions and feelings isn't healthy at all... people can be uncaring and insulting... let them.. they won't change! Allowing others to control our emotions or "put us in a bad mood" isn't safe for us. Rather, let them be stupid, and ignorant if they have to be -- and be thankful YOU are not that way!
You are welcome to join our mental health forums listed below. we are a small group, caring and we'd love to have you! hugs

Why don't you try getting out and joining a class of some sort like a dance class or some kind of home study to take you mind off it?

First of all why are you even Bulimic? That is just freakin stupid, but you can start by not barfing all the time after you eat. Then or maybe, you can just take everything you use to make yourself barf and throw it away unless you use your fingers. But there might be something that you can do to stop it, have you checked any internet websites? That might help some. I have a friend that is bulimic but it wasn't bad. But she stopped by just eating and people around her telling her not to barf. But most of the stuff i am saying is that it shouldn't be that hard to get over it.

ok...do you realise the dangers of bulimia? first do you not realise the damage your stomach acid is doing to your teeth and it must taste horrible...i dont know how you can possibly phycally make yourself sick, the though of it is disgusting and sick is just gross! anyway, there are loads of websites giving advice on eating disorders but right now, try to avoid the tempation of eating only when you have to, eat a good breakfast and DONT sick it back up! your body neeeeeds the food and it's also damaging your stomach and throat muscles. go for a walk in a park or something to take your mind off things, stay active and try not to lounge around at home
hope this is a slight help!
good luck!
