your dog is trying to tell you that he's interested in the food you've eaten. this is a natural behaivor that occurs in the wild. they will lick the faces of the older dogs in the pack to tell them that they would like some food too! Dogs love to eat, so i dont thin theres any reason to worry. as long as he's fed (and im sure he is) then it's just a natural canine behaivor.

My dog does this for several reasons. 1. She is telling me she needs something. (Out, Food, Walk) 2. She wants attention and wants to play. 3. She is jealous. i.e. she does it practically every time I try to kiss my boyfriend. Even if she was ignoring us for an hour prior.
