I wouldn't know how long it is supposed to last. My dog eats it very quick too! But she surely enjoys it

BE CAREFUL! If this is white rawhide he could easily get a blockage. White rawhide can be dangerous...especially if dogs can chew is up into a gummy mass and swallow it. Rawhide is meant to be chewed on, NOT EATEN like a treat. If you see him eating pieces, getting it to gummy take it away (you can let it dry out if its not to destroyed or to small) Many dogs have had to have emergency surgery from eating rawhide. The white rawhide gets gummed up and swallowed then can still expand in the stomach and not pass through the dogs digestive tract. The tan rawhide is harder for dogs to chew and should last longer. If he is going through the darker tan rawhide that fast its just as bad! Don't give him ANY rawhides. This also goes for pig ears or any chew treats-these are not meant to be eaten like a treat but chewed slowly over hours and days...You may try a raw femur beef bone (not cooked or smoked these are to brittle and can chip and break) at least 18" long but if you see him cracking and chipping pieces off take it away. If he is an extremely aggressive chewer you may not be able to give him these kinds of chews.,.you may have to get him an "indestructible" Kong or Rhino Kong.

As long as you give them, he'll eat them.
I would recommend bully (or pizzle) sticks. Look for dark
brown 'chews'. They won't get all gummy and form a wad
in your dog's gut. Rawhide isn't the best thing for a dog to eat, and normally you should take it away & throw it out once it gets gummy.
He'd eat pig-ears too fast, and they're fatty. But there are
some really good chew that dogs love that are way better than rawhide. Also, look for a rope toy. They're durable and will be good for the teeth & gums as well.

My dog chews them thru fast too, and all in one sitting. It just depends on the dog. Dogs with determination just chew them thru in one sitting, and especially dogs with strong jaws, like your rottie. Some dogs just chew for a little and leave for a little. But with dogs like yours and mine, it's better to get them a nice big bone that they can't chew thru so fast. You also should keep in mind that when a dog chews thru a big rawhide so fast it isn't good because the rawhide will expand in the dog's stomach. So if you still want to give your dog rawhide, get a smaller one, then it's not so hard on the stomach.

LoL. Ya that sounds about right. I've had Rotts my hole life. There realy isnt any thind you can get that will last longer than a bay. you could try the Kong bones but make sure they eat them somewhere other than the carpet the flavoring will get all over. You can try pigears for a treat. but nothing last more than a day or two

it'll last about as long as it takes your dog to chew it. rottie's can chew through rawhide fairly quickly. you might want to try a big dog kong and see if that can fair well with your dog.

My dogs both eat a raw hide in about 15-20 minutes they love them. Honestly I think when my female gets done with hers she goes and take my males just because she can.

My labs eat them about that fast too. I decided to get them the chips, but you have to pay attention cuz sometimes they are very small. That way they can have one every day and my budget won't be blown!
