Jesus says in Revelation 3, "Therefore if you will not watch, I will come upon you as a thief, and you will not know what hour I will come upon you."

Now read Daniel 11 if you havent already:

Read 10 and 12 if you wish to know more.

What does Daniel 11 describe to you? What do the North and South remind you of? There are two different views of this chapter, either all past events, or past and present events leading to future events, and the end. To me, it seems alot like current events (North:US, South:Iraq), even though ive also heard the other side of the story about Antiochus Epiphanes, which seems very similar to the prophecy also. Im trying to understand this prophecy, so please give me your ideas.

yea, i think it will be obvious to the believers when the signs of the end are about to take place. but to the others, theyll probably have no clue.

bleh i guess it really doesnt matter... but to me , the US is the scum of the earth. Coming from an un-proud american, im unhappy with this country and im fearing the worst.

yea, prophecies are vague and hard to understand, and some words have different meanings. lots of the things written in prophecy stand for certain things, and arent meant to be taken literally. its very confusing.

These prophecies are very unclear to me, thanks for the input

It says that the prophesies are locked up until the time of the end. People have been trying to translate that forever (since it was written) and fit it to the current circumstances. It will unfold as it will.

The king of the north and the king of the south has changed many times through history.
What happened in Daniels time is prophetic to what will happen in our time as for-told in Revelations.
America is the king of the south but who the king of the north is at this time is unclear.
Who ever or what ever the king of the north is it would appear from world events we are living in the time of it's fulfilment

Dispensationalism is a tough one to study......

It can be taken one of 2 ways:

1) It describes the times that are coming
2) It describes the destruction of the temple in 70 AD

What I hold to is this:
The Lord Jesus Christ will come back for His church in due time. And if we are saved, we will go with Him. What happens here on earth is not my problem after I'm gone.

But it does make for an interesting study.....end-times stuff is really neat......especially for the believer.

that has nothing to do with the US and Iraq....this has to do with persia , egypt and greece and the wars and changes in the power structure at that time.....besides....the US and IRaq are east and west of each other....not north and south
