I'm a guy. Will it make my hair any thicker?

Nope...when people shave or trim, they initially think it is growing back thicker because the base of the folicle is thicker than the end which tapers off eventually...when you shave and it grows back it has no end so it just feels thincker. When it grows out a little bit more, it will feel the same as before.
