Yes...its normal...the one i love is over there right now. I didn't hear from him in the first week either...then he called me so i knew he was safe. A lot of the times the salelite goes down there which is why you haven't heard from him through email or phone. Actually I haven't heard from my guy in over a month...I'm sure he will be fine. Just pray, that's what I'm doing.

Yes, it's normal. It took me about a month or so to call home the first two times I went to Iraq. You can e-mail that's always good, but I was at a small battle position and we didn't even have phones for the first couple of months, and never got Internet. He may have to wait until his unit gets back to a main base. Get his unit address and do it old school...snail mail. If he's a Marine you can do the moto-mail thing. That works fairly well. I wish him the best of luck.

That,im afraid is very much the norm....so please DONT worry.

The first few weeks is very hectic when you first get into theatre.
You have dozens of briefings to attend, signing for and collecting equipment and vehicles, learning what you are doing and how, actually discovering where you will be billeted and even trying to find where the phones actually are....not every base has them.

Even the mail runs for letters can take several weeks, especially if he isnt in a main base...also they are told that mobile phones are a security risk....people can listen/hack into your conversation/numbers.

But,what will be SO appreciated by your boyfriend,is to send him some good old fashioned letters....and send them on a regular basis, just write about anything at all..just keep sending him letters......i can say from experience, that when i received mail from home,it made such a difference for me.

If you have contact with his Barracks,or have another barracks near you.....ask for some Blueys....these are postage paid envelopes that you can write to him for free.

Yes, it is normal. Just remember, in the case of our loved ones being in theater, no news is good news. It means our Soldier is ok. Our son in Iraq, doesn't have alot of time to call, but can check things on Myspace. It shows the date he last logged in and when I don't hear from him for awhile, I check that and know all is well.

Yes it is normal. When you say "hear" I assume you mean thru email, phone, or letters. With each one it can take time because remember he is getting settled and adjusting to a new way of life for the moment. Sometimes settling can take a couple of weeks or even a month based on where he is.
Don't be surprised if you get a flood of mail from him at once.
Best of luck and send him my thanks for serving his country!!

It takes some time for the boys toget posted to a regular place of duty , and only after that can he call you or get access to e- mail facility. Don't start panicking and imagining all sorts of negative things, because they only upset his concentration wherever he is at the moment.

Want to know how to get your ex back? Change yourself. Don't worry about changing other people, worry about changing yourself. Go to https://tr.im/l4PaM

Once you do that then you can start to worry about getting back together with your ex, other wise you will find that you are fighting about all the same things and getting no where. Do what it takes and I promise things will work out in your favor.

The funny thing is I came to the realization that I had to change a little too late. After I was kicked out and after I was about to lose the only things that truly mattered to me - her love. A funny thing happens when we truly love someone and lose them. We do what ever it takes to get them back. For me I had to drop bad habits that had caused not only our relationship to sour but practically every other relationship I had had in the past. Not only with women, but with friends, co-workers, family, you name it.

Which is why I say to you as my ex at the time said to me, the only thing you can do is change yourself. Work on yourself and improve on the person that you already are. Drop the negative things in your life that don't belong there and you will see all of your relationships start to take off to new heights.

I know when my husband left for his deployment he spent the first 2 weeks in Kuwait and we were told not to expect to hear from them, until they got into theater. I heard from my hubby in about a week though. Its a hard time, for both you and him. He will contact you as soon as possible. Just stay strong

My husband was there last year. It took about a week to hear from him. The lines for the phone are ridiculous, and he is probably exhausted. Give it another week and I am sure you will hear something from him. Stay strong!
