well how are we comparing this cuz if Gordon races for another 13 years who knows what he can accomplish. Im gonna say Gordon 100% because yea they raced in different times but I think it was easier to win then compared to now. and Gordon should have 5 championships if Nascar hadnt changed so much. Since Gordon won 3 or his championships racing Earnhardt and Earnhardt won 1 in that time span. Definately Gordon! and also Gordon had both racing packages he could both qualify and win races how many poles did Dale Sr. have and Gordon also has more wins in a shorter time frame!

Question of the Century. We will never know. Dale Sr and Jeff only was at their best two years they raced together. In 1994, Dale prevailed with the Cup, and in 1995 Jeff edged Dale by 35 points. 1996-1999 Dale was building DEI and having back surgery, but in 2001... It was going to be Dale vs Jeff again. The #3 team was on and so was the #24... it was going to be a battle. All the experts said this is the year where the old pro.. the intimidator.. takes on the kid.. Jeff Gordon.
Regrettably, we never got to see that battle, and NASCAR lost its greatest champion.

Can't be compared. Earnhardt spun out and wrecked drivers for half of his victories. Gordon would be penalized or suspended if he drove today like Dale did in his heyday. Gordon has to rely on talent and skill. Dale had both but he used the "chrome horn" on too many competitors. If he hadn't suffered such a tragic death he'd still be hated by half the fans. It's amazing how many people hated Earnhardt then suddenly became his biggest fan after Feb. oe 2001.

I think that they are both good drivers
Earnhardt Sr was good from 1979-2001, From that time he won 7 Championships, and 76 races.
Jeff Gordon is still racing but from 1992-2007 he has won 4 Championships, and 79 races.

Gordon is a crybaby, who complains to the officials if anyone passes him. Dale learned the old fashioned way...on a dirt track, not on Daddy's check book......Gordon should grow a pair then come back and play with the big boys. Earnhardt all the way.
