Hello I have this problem I have an 8x DVD - R Disc which has some important concert footage on it my problem is this, I can play this disc no problem in my dvd player. But when I attempt to copy it using Nero burning Rom or similat programmes it shows as disc being empty?, when infact it has 2 gbs of footage on the disc?, Can anyone suggest a program which reads these discs or a variety of disc if it helps the disc is recorded using the NTSC standard and it is non copyrighted material before anyone asks with no encryption present!.

Basically im after a program which can extra information from discs which others seem to miss?

Try to duplicate that disk on someone else's computer, or BUY a new DVD burner.

You might try a duplication program like http://www.123copydvd.com

Hmm sometimes dvd players have the capability of playing damaged disks. Your PC drive is not recognizing content as the disk is probably damaged. But you can still use it in your dvd player as your player seems to read the content nonetheless. This happens a lot of times though this may not be the issue in your case. But you shouldn't need some extra s/w to see the content and any file of any extension should be visible. Are you sure you're drive is in good condition? Did you try reading the disk on other computers?

just a long shot, but did you record this originally in the DVD player? if that is the case then maybe you forgot to finalize the DVD. un-finalized disks usually are not readable in players other than the original recorder. Once finalized, it will work in any DVD device.
