a) is this special when you're a god and can create sons at will?
b) is this special when he didn't really die in the end?
c) is this just one of those annoying platitudes they come up with?

IMO, conspiring to have your own kid brutally beaten and killed (and then blaming or damning someone else for doing your dirty work) is NOT 'love'. How many Christians would admire and praise limited HUMANS who torture and kill their own kids?

a) Nope. A real, omnipotent, loving god could come up with some other way to appease himself and save his followers from his own wrath.
b) Nope. No lost life, no sacrifice.
c) Yes. The funny thing is that they think moral people would actually WANT to worship a being that heinous. We don't. They don't understand that they have NOTHING of value to offer non-Christians.

God does not "create sons at will" but has only one that shares his divine form and power.

Jesus as a man really did die on the cross and so God suffered all the pain that is possible. He was then resurrected by God after being dead for several days.

Nope, it is a statement of truth for how much God loves every person on the planet.

Here's a question, how many of you would give up your son for the world to die in the most horrific way possible?

A. It depends on how you look at it. I believe (and I have scripture to support this) that Jesus was God in human flesh. I know, I know, the trinity is a confusing concept. The fact remains that God only had ONE begotten Son, and that was Jesus Christ.
B. But He did die. However, He HAD to be resurrected. That was the final sign, that He was divine. Without the resurrection, He was just another crazy guy (who could somehow perform miracles...).
C. Maybe. Or maybe it's true.

C. Definitely C. Why?

The same thing happened with Superman. And Superman, cool as his powers are, is just a selfish egotist.

I think the big question is "why didn't God just forgive us?"
Why use a middle-man and cause him all that suffering?
I don't think any Christian really thinks of Jesus as actually being God in human form - if they did they would simply call him "God" not Jesus.

d) are we supposed to appreciate the fact that he generated a son to be "killed" when he himself made the rule that someone would have to die to spare us from his damnation?
e) is hoping to spend an eternity with a being that demands blood sacrifices to appease his anger a wise goal?

Also, we're supposed to despise Judas but if it hadn't been for him Jesus would never have got to fulfil his purpose.

The Gospels really needed a good literary editor. They'd never have let this garbage into print.

He "gave" his son by putting him IN the world.
He "gave" his son by taking him OUT of the world.

And somehow the two aren't contradictory.

Honestly, I think Jesus was of more use alive than dead.

God have no sons, everyone on this earth is his creature. If men or prophets are his sons then Jesus will not be only because he was born after many. The only will be Adam, read bible :

23) Now Jesus Himself began His ministry at about thirty years of age, being (as was supposed) the son of Joseph, the son of Heli.
..….
38 the son of Enosh, the son of Seth, the son of Adam, the son of God. (please read-Bible:Luke 3:23-38)
